The Hobo Tales # 2
I think this thing now consists of mostly poetry and song lyrics. Enjoy anyway.
Hey Jupiter
Hey Jupiter,
The brightest star in the sky,
Heavenly body super.
Can you teach me how to fly?

When will I reach you?
You're light years away,
Yet I'm drawn to you;
Epitome of dismay.

My path is clear,
My destiny obvious,
But I am full of fear.
To the successful, I am envious.

How can I reach you?
You shine so brightly.
It's obvious, I'm to come to you,
But the path is unsightly.

Just as clear as I see you,
My path is illuminated,
But such is also true,
It is not easily culminated.

Why is it that,
We strive so hard to reach,
Somewhere nice and flat,
Somewhere out of reach?

I do not understand why,
We cannot do that which we were born to do.
Why is the sky,
Reached by so very, very few?

Perhaps we have no destiny;
Perhaps life is mystery.

Jupiter, you and I,
are not so different.
The difference is I,
Am wholly irreverent.

Heavenly body turmoil,
Deep down to your core.
You contain not a bit of soil.
Does that make you sore?

I am much the same,
Tumultuous to my core.
You are marked by fame,
Isn't it a bore?

When I look to the sky,
All I see is your eye,
And all I can ask is why,
Is that you never sigh?

Gaseous giant galore,
You have no anchor.
Are you not sore,
without a banker?

Perhaps the answer is afar.
Perhaps you are just a star.
