I just need to vent about this irritating occurrence. >:[

Every morning on my walk with Johnny, I see this family from down the road and across the street let their two small dogs out to (presumably) do their duty. It would be one thing entirely if they stood out there, dogs on leashes, and waited for them to relieve themselves. However, they do not! They open the door, let them out, then go back inside. During the however many minutes they leave them out there, the dogs run around their front yard, across the street, in their neighbor's yards, and then back when the owners finally open the door again. I walk across the street from this house, and there is nothing I can do to stop the tiny little things from coming into line of site of Johnny. His halti leash (which has an "emergency" attachment to his actual collar, thank goodness) is immediately brushed off as he squirms in excitement to go see what's going on, disrupting our walk, and causing me great irritation as I refuse to be dragged around by him. This particular morning, I happened to see the owners standing outside (rounding up the dogs), and all they did was stare at me as I struggled to keep my dog under control and continue what had previously been a calm and relaxing walk.
I wish I was not so shy because I want so badly to knock on their door and give them a piece of my mind. D:< The audacity of some people just GRRRR ya know?!
What makes this more irritating is that my mother and grandmother do exactly the same thing (the former worse than the latter, as we've had a couple occasions where she completely forgot about the poor thing, and had a neighbor ask if she was ours). What would possess you do think that this is ok? I just do not understand. Not only are you causing distress to people using these public sidewalks, but you're allowing your dogs to relieve themselves in other peoples' yards, and run freely around the neighborhood off a leash and without supervision (ie: breaking the law).

Ok, I think I've got it out of my system. Maybe I'll try to get Adam to walk with me one of these days. He'll probably say something if he sees them. No shame, no shame. >.<
