Belial, Also named Belhor, Baalial, Beliar, Belias , Beliall, Beliel, Bilael; and Matanbuchus, Mechembuchus, Meterbuchus in older scripts
The Master of lies, one of his most common titles; Belial was an angel within the lord's court, but like the others who fell he was drawn to corruption, and became a compulsive liar, unable to tell the truth to anyone even if he wished to, and so when the lord brought him before him and said that his sins would be forgiven if he could only tell him the truth, though he had fallen too far, and his fate was to be banished from heaven along with the other fallen.
In a bid to take over hell, Andariel, Duriel, Asmodeus, and Belial banded together to force the more major entities within hell, Mephistopheles, Baal, and Diablo, into the mortal realm, though this then created a power vacuum within the under realm. The two most ambitious of the two, Belial and Asmodeus began gathering forces against each other, eventually polarizing the whole of hell to their causes. Those of the lord's realm along with the guardians who had been sent to defend the mortals had their eyes cast downwards, but they were powerless to stop the usurpers within their own realm.

Asmodeus was eventually triumphant, and Belial too was forced onto the mortal plane, though in stead of taking this as a defeat, he merely saw this as an opportunity to begin rebuilding his empire there. Through false promises of riches power, women, whatever the person wanted he seemed to know exactly what to say, exactly how to get to their desires, and his followers once more began to grow, and through this he came into the ownership of his most prized possession, his fabled sword.
Angels who had been tasked with watching over the mortal realm often came across him, many fell to his blade, but few he managed to seep his words into insidiously, and they began to sway to him, not knowing exactly what this man was. It was this creeping infection he began to sow within heaven's choirs that he achieved a blow against them that was his first act of venegance, as it was decreed that the higher beings could no longer interfere in the affairs of the mortal realm unless invited to do so by individuals, forever driving a wedge between the people and those who wished to protect them, and thus casting even more people's faith into doubt, as those who had once been ever benevolent and helpful now were nowhere to be seen.
Even with this isolation between the mortal and higher realms however, his insidious lies had already taken hold, as followers began to come to his cause, all coming to believe him as a shining benevolent god who would fulfil all of their heart's desires, and thus as the angels all fell from their causes the golden demons were born, Belial himself beginning to change alongside those beneath him, barely recognizable as what he had been before.

Appearance:
Where he had once been the epitome of what one imagine if you were to say the word angel; even after his fall and banishing to the mortal realm, his change into the Dearch forever changed him. Belial's skin is a pale alabaster, the majority covered by gold and ivory armour and finery, amongst his cascading golden locks several faces protrude forth, each a pure white mask with golden filigree for its facial features. These are the only indication of his true nature, all speaking in unison like a choir that meld into a single voice.

If one were to ask him about the blade he would say it was the blade that once belonged to the archangel Michael.
In truth, it is the fabled sword Dainsleif, capable of killing anything dealt a blow that would be fatal to a mortal, regardless of supernatural healing, immortality, or the like. Originally the possession of an ancient king during the times of the early norse myths and legends, the endless war that was waged between it's owner and another was finally ended, the sword was thought lost.
