RE:
Of water and fire pt 2
User Image All I knew was we needed to prove ourselves, and figure out what had started this mess.
---
My sister and I arrived back at the scene of the incident. Most of the area was still damp. We decided to continue further into the aqueducts, were the strange noises were heard. I could feel her clenched onto my arm. I rubbed her arm with my other hand.
"Don't worry," I said calmly to her.
She only nodded as we continued. The light of the lower city stringed away. I gathered a small bit of magic to my fingers, to gain some light. Just a few feet infront of us was a video camera. It looked remotely old, but was untouched by he water.
I grabbed it, and we both ran as fast as we could back to the castle, and our parents.
When we arrived to their throne room, Eyron was no where to be found.
I shouted to my parents," Where is he?!"
They ignored my words. My mother waved her hand for just my sister to come over. My sister didn't want to leave my side, but she had to. My mother whispered something to her, and she left.
"Now, Amarah," My father continued on, "You have taken your games to far. How are we suppose to be understanding with this mischief?"
I said in calm words, with my head lowered, "Father, it wasn't Eyron, sister, or I."
"Nonsense!" He yelled out. "We were told by many people of the city that they saw all of you there when the pipes broke. How are we suppose to believe you three, when we have much evidence against you?! This is no way to behave. Maybe it is all this Eyron's doing."
"What? Are you kidding me? What people? Who were they?" I was enraged. "And why must you blame this on Eyron?! Why him!? Ugh... Sister and I went back to find anything to prove our innocence. Atleast we found something."
I slid the video camera forward, and turned around almost immediately afterward.
"Amarah, hunny, please try and view it from our side." My mother said.
I only shook my head and left.
Somewhere between me leaving, and finding my sister, another siren had gone off. I had never heard of this one before, but I was too angry to care. I had found my sister and her friend in one of our underground tunnels. She explained to me what she was told. I explained what had happened. All 3 of us sat their, listening to the town stir, and that siren beaming louder.
There was a sudden thud, and my sister screamed. I moved quickly around them, gathering up my energy to fire. There, was Eyron, laying on the floor of the tunnel. His hands were cuffed in back of him. He looked up to me, and smiled.
"I knew I'd find you, Beautiful."
I looked at him, upset, and yet happy to see him. "You... You idiot."
I moved around and broke off the cuffs that bound him. He sat himself up and rubbed his wrists. "I guess I should thank you, right?"
I shook my head and kissed his cheek. "I'm just glad you're here and safe," I said to him, helping him onto his feet. I had almost forgotten that my sister and her friend were still around. We looked out into the city, the people of the city crowded up to the center of the lower city. Within seconds of the crowd gathering, the siren ended.
Everyone was quiet, still. My parents were no where to be found. I had the feeling of worry in every bone in my body. I told my sister and her friend to follow to tunnels and hide. Eyron and I watched them leave. He took my hand and held it tight. I looked to him, and he looked back to me. I felt like he wasn't telling me something. I ignored that, though. The look in his eyes were of rage, sadness, worry. It was mixed to where my concern was directly for him. I looked back to the city people, and back towards him. He nodded at me.
"Amarah, I know what you want to do. I will protect you. I will stand by your side. I will be here, for you, always." He held tight to her hand, pulling out a small ring from his pocket with his other. "As long as I live, I will strive to make you happy. I will strive to make you smile. I will keep you in my arms, forever."
I could feel tears falling down my cheeks. My heart was fluttered so much, I forgot about my worries. I leaned forward and kissed him.
At that sudden moment, explosions from inside and outside the city erupted. I felt Eyron cover me with his body, to protect me from any falling rocks. We both looked up, and out into the city. Ashes fell from the sky, screams were everywhere. But worse was to come. People, all unknown, rushed the city. There could have only been fifty of them compared to the four thousand of us, but they were going through the people and homes like it was paper.
They were like our gifted, yet I couldn't see any of them using their magic or energy. They were talented fighters, mercenaries almost.
I could feel Eyron's body tense.
"Amarah, wait here. I need to check on the king and queen." ANd with that, he kissed me, and ran out of the quickest tunnel, to the city.
I sat there, not sure what to do. I was rushed with emotion. I looked down at my clenched hand, and opened it to find the ring.
I closed my eyes and whispered to myself. " I do know what I need to do."
I slid the ring onto my finger, and slowly walked out into the ash and fire.
I gathered myself, and my energy. I ran to help those in need, putting out fires and defending them from the invaders.
The other "magic" users fought, as well as our own talented swordsmen. We seemed to draw them back, but we were wrong.
Another explosion came from the center of the castle. I, immediately, turned around and began to run towards the castle, but there stood a man. I went to hit him with both my fist and the fire energy that I had collected. He stopped me before I could even hit. A force or shield around him shoved me back. I laid on my back as he hovered above me. He grinned, deviously. The red in his eyes were unlike any other. I was terrified. I went to hurl another thing of energy at him, but it only deteriorated as it came close to him.
The strange man finally spoke. "It seems we didn't need to raid the castle to find you, Princess Amarah."
I was shocked and tried to pull myself back away from him, but he only leaned down closer and grabbed my hands. I struggled, but I felt weak. I tried my damned hardest to shake it off, but to no avail. I yelled and scream for help, for Eyron. The strange man only smiled, and pulled me close to him. I felt burning on my hands. He placed his mouth next to my cheek. I could smell blood on his lips as he licked from my cheek to my ear. I tried not to try, not to show weakness, but I knew my body differently. I had given out. I had nothing more against this man.
"S'estai Malkai Porey Tarei," said the strange man into my ear. I felt something plunge into my chest. A pain like no other. He let my hands go, and backed away. I looked down to see a knife plunged into me. I was so scared, but I managed to pull it out, screaming at the horrid pain. I fell onto my hands and knees. I tried to keep my eyes open.
"Eyron..." I said to myself, looking up and around. "Please... find me." I used the last of my strength to heal myself to the best of my ability, before the darkness took over.
