Cherry-Apple Pie
So, a friend dragged me out with her to a specialty baking store for some bread flour, and of course then I had to look around... I managed to restrain myself though, and bought only a can of cherries for pie.
Tossed cherries with sugar,cornstarch, vanilla essence, and a wee bit of lemon essence. The flavour of canned cherries can never compare to fresh ones, I know that now.
Only after I filled the crust did I realize that the cherry filling wasn't enough! I then roughly chopped up an apple to bulk it up. sweatdrop
Being me, I'd actually forgot to dot the filling with butter before doing the crust, and had to squeeze bits of butter through the gaps of the poor abused lattice top. xp
The babies loved the pie though, it was gobbled up so fast. The remaining quarter by the next day.
