She fell into my arms. God she feels so light…Like a cloud. Her eyes opened slowly and she gave me that sweet smile that I liked seeing. “Kimiyko don’t do that ok…” She gave another sweet smile. “Yes, Kotako.” I set her down and we went inside and started eating. After we finished eating we both went to bed and slept close in the same bed that night…
“Mmm…” I sat up and opened my eyes. God to think…It’s been six months since Kimiyko’s been here. I looked around our room. It had always been cleaned and I and Kimiyko had bought a bigger bed so we could both fit on it. I looked over at her. She was sleeping peaceful as she had always done, then I looked over at my desk at the journal that was marked “Data,” that was the book where I had written everything that happen with Kimiyko.
I looked at it every day to remind myself that soon Kimiyko was going to be leaving and I couldn’t get feelings for her, but something told me in my heart that when she left I was going to miss her so much. She started to moan and move about and opened her cute eyes. I smiled and chuckled. “Good morning my sweet princess.” She blushed and giggled. “And a good morning to you my prince charming.” She got up and got dressed, and went to go tend to the kitten we had found about one month ago.
It was a girl and she had named it Kilala from the anime show Inuyasha that we had rented about two months ago. Kilala was black with a giant white spot on her eye. We had figured she was about 9 weeks old. We tried going around asking people if it was there but no one had said anything. We had put up flyers and nothing. So after waiting about a month, I decided that Kimiyko could keep it, which she was really happy I said yes. She treated it like a baby, and loved it constantly. She looked adorable as a mother.
Kimiyko was playing on the floor with Kilala on her head when the phone suddenly rang. I got up and went to go pick it up. “Hello Myashi residents.” “Kotako. It’s me.” “Oh hello uncle.” “Yes, a hello to you too. I wanted to call to tell you thank you for the data on Kimiyko but its time for her to come back.” My eyes widened. “You mean…Already…?” “Yes Kotako, we’ve collected a lot of data on her. We think its time for her to come back.” I looked over at her playing happily with Kilala and sighed thinking about how I knew this day would come.
“Ok, I’ll bring her in an hour…” “Ok, don’t bring any of her things. She won’t need there where she’s going.” “Of course…” I hung up the phone and sighed looking at her. Kimiyko get dressed were going to see uncle. Kimiyko got up happily and put Kilala back in her bed. “Ok, Kilala you stay there. Mommy will be back later to play with you~” She went into our walk in closet and got dressed. I looked down depressed and got dressed.
I’m giving up the perfect girl of my dreams to go to collage…God I must be stupid. We both got dressed and I held Kimiyko’s hand the whole way there. She was skipping happy the whole way there. When we finally got to uncle’s lab we went in and there he was waiting for us. “Thank you for collecting the data on Kimiyko but now it’s time for her to go back into the egg.”
“Uncle. Please isn’t there another way we can do this? Please I can-“ “its ok, Kotako” My eyes widened and I looked over at Kimiyko, and saw she was smiling. “I knew this day was coming…I knew what was going to happen.” “W-wait you knew what was going to happen???” “Yes, I could read your heart it told me what you were planning. I know you don’t really love me. You just did it so you could collect data on me.” She smiled and let go of my hand going over to uncle. She turned to be and bowed politely.
“I hope you do well in collage, Kotako Myashi.” She walked to where the egg was and stepped inside. Her hair covered her eyes but I saw a tear slide down her cheek, and suddenly I felt my heart sink lower then the deepest bottomless pit. They took off her clothes and put on the clothes she would wear inside the egg and stepped back as the egg closed and filled with water. Uncle came over to me and gave me the clothes she had been wearing. “I think its better you keep these.”
I looked down to ashamed of myself to say anything. “We’ve transferred the money for your collage into the bank account. Please use it when you get accepted into the collage.” I turned away and started walking home. I didn’t want to look back. When I finally got home, Akito was there and he saw the look on my face and gave me a pat on the back and went inside his apartment.
Mrs. Tanaka came outside and looked at me. “Oh Kotako, where is your friend?” “She um…Went back to her home…” “Oh I see…That’s a shame…I wanted to give her this.” She held up a box gift wrapped in a beautiful blue paper. I stared at it. “What’s this?” “Oh well its Kimiyko’s birthday gift. Today is her birthday of course.” “What…?” “She didn’t tell you?” “Well no she didn’t…” I felt even worse now. I gave away Kimiyko on her birthday…God I feel like a monster now…
She gave me the present. “Well if you ever get her address, please send this to her. I’ll pay for you to ship of course.” I nodded and took the gift and went inside my apartment. When I opened the door Kilala was sitting there waiting for Kimiyko. She had trained her to wait at the door. When I came in and closed the door, Kilala sat there still waiting for Kimiyko to come in. “Kilala…She’s…not coming home…”
She looked at me then looked back at the door sitting there. I sat down at the table sighing. Then got up and grabbed a photo album that we had made together. It had all the pictures of our trips in it. I looked thru it slowly smiling at all the fun things we had done in just 6 months. When I finished looking thru the album I got up and got ready to put it away when something fell out. I turned around and picked it up and examined it. It was a letter, from Kimiyko to me. I opened it and began reading it.
Dear Kotako,
If you are reading this, then it means I have gone back to the egg of your uncle’s laboratory. I wanted you to know that I saw this day coming. I don’t know if everything we did in these past six months is just fake or if it is real. I just wanted to let you know, that I still love you with all my heart, even if you don’t love me at all. I’d feel a lot better if you knew how I felt about you even if you won’t tell me how you feel about me. Where I’m going days without you will seem like years. Please take care of Kilala for me and you can get rid of my stuff if you won’t. I won’t mind at all. Please take care of yourself and make sure you stay in a clean home. I hope one day our paths will cross again.

I sighed knowing that she knew all this time and she still loved me more then anything…Knowing I was going to trade her for a collage fund…I looked over at Kilala who was still laying in the same spot and hadn’t moved. I looked over at the clock and it said it was 6pm. This was normally the time where me and Kimiyko sat down and ate dinner while we watched anime about Romance. She always loved that kind of anime most.
I was about to get ready for bed when suddenly a huge light appeared in front of me. “Thank you for taking care of our daughter…We now believe she is ready to come back to heaven to help us rule…We just wished that she could have stayed with you forever…For she seemed so happy. If you still want her…Go get her before 10pm tonight.” As fast as it came it vanished. I stood there blinking and began to look around the house. I could picture her by the sink washing dishes. I could picture her by the bed playing with Kilala, and when I looked at myself…I could picture her in my arms…
“Grr, that’s it! I’m going to get my princess!” I grabbed my coat and my keys locked the apartment and began to run as fast as I could to my uncle lab. As I got closer and closer, I ran inside the building and ran into the room with Kimiyko. “Kotako! What are you doing here?” “Uncle, I want Kimiyko back! She shouldn’t have to be like this forever!” “Kotako, we are doing this so she doesn’t destroy the world.” “But when she was with me she was fine and happy!!”
He sighed and looked at me. “I’m sorry Kotako, but if we wanted to give her to you we couldn’t. She went back to sleep.” I ran over to the egg and began banging on it. “Kimiyko! Please wake up! I don’t want you to go! I love you to much!!! PLEASE COME BACK!!!” I banged harder and harder but nothing seemed to wake her…
“I’m sorry Kotako…” He grabbed me and started taking me to the door when suddenly something made the whole room shake. We both looked over at the egg Kimiyko was incased in and saw that Kimiyko’s eyes were opening and she was trying to crack the egg. I ran towards the egg and hit as hard as I could when suddenly the egg busted open and water went everywhere.
When the water finally stopped pouring on me I saw Kimiyko in my arms. “Oh Kotako, I knew you loved me, I just knew it…” I smiled and lifted up her head. “I’ve always loved you.” I kissed her as deeply as I could, giving her the kiss I had always wanted to give her. She blushed and kissed me back smiling. I smiled back and handed her, her clothes.” Now…Let’s go home…”
She put on her clothes and got up. “Yes Kotako.” I swirled her into my arms and kissed her again. “Call me…Your lover…” She blushed and smiled. “Yes my love…” We both started walking home and got home 20 minutes later and when we opened the door, Kilala was waiting there as usual and jumped on Kimiyko giving her the cutest little kisses.
I picked up Kimiyko in my arms and took her over to our bed and sat down with her in my lap. “Kimiyko…I’ve wanted to tell you this for a long time but…I want to get married, I want to live together forever, I want us to have children, I want us to do everything together…You’re the girl I want to spend the rest of my life with…
She smiled and held me tight. “And you’re the man I want to spend the rest of my life with too…Please don’t ever leave me ok?” I smiled and held her even closer. “I promise I won’t ever leave you…” I held her close the whole night and we both fell asleep together. The next morning I awake and she was right there…Still sleeping next to me. Like it was just a weird dream. Kilala was sound asleep in her bed.
I quietly slipped out of the bed and went into the kitchen and started making a big breakfast for me and Kimiyko hoping she would like it. When Kimiyko woke up I was just finishing setting up the table. She yawned and rubbed her eyes. “What smells so good?” I smiled at her. “Its breakfast. I made it all by myself.” She looked at all the food. “Wow honey…This stuff looks amazing. You are a really good cook.” I blushed at the word honey before. I hadn’t had a girlfriend in so long that it felt more like we were newly weds instead of boyfriend and girlfriend.
When we finished eating we both got dressed and cleaned up the house a little. “Hey love.” “Yes, my darling?” “Let’s go for a walk in the park ok?” “He-he ok~” She smiled at the idea and went a got her shoes and her hat out and packed a picnic for us and put Kilala inside the bag. “Ok were all ready to go.” We left the apartment and started to walk towards the park. When suddenly a saw a girl that looked really familiar to me.
As we got closer I realized it was Anna my ex-girlfriend. She dumped me because she thought I was a loser with no hope of getting anything achieved in life. “Kimiyko, you see that girl? When she comes over here just ignore her.” She held my hand tighter. “But what if she says hi? It’s not polite.” I sighed and smiled at her. “Ok baby.”
Anna got closer and stopped. “Kotako? Kotako, is that you?” I sighed a little bit and gave a fake smile. “Hi Anna, How’s it going?” “It’s been going great. Hmm? Who’s this girl? Is she your sister?” I frowned at how much of a brat she could be. “For your information, this is the love of my life, Kimiyko.” She smirked at Kimiyko in a way that disgusted me so much.
“So…Your Kotako’s girlfriend?” “Yes I am. You must be Anna. Nice to meet you.” She gave a cute bow which made me smile. Kimiyko was so adorable. “Yes…Well nice to meet you too…Anyway. Hey Kotako, how about you say we go out to dinner on Friday night. Just the two of us?” God the way she tried to flirt with people made me sick.
“No thanks Anna, Kimiyko and I are planning on watching Manga together on that day…” She raised an eyebrow. “Well fine, but if you change your mind. Come to the café store next to the collage.” She winked at me then walked up to Kimiyko. “I’d watch yourself if I was you. You may be Kotako’s girlfriend, but I was here first.” Kimiyko looked at her a bit and smiled. “And I’d watch yourself too. You might end up dead in a ditch somewhere.”
She walked away and me and Kimiyko continued walking to park, and when we finally got there we chose a perfect spot under a tree and laid out our stuff. Kilala was running around in circles like she normally does chasing a butterfly. Kimiyko and me both giggled at how cute she looked.
We finished our picnic around 6pm and started walking home. I realized I needed to start looking for a job if I was going to be able to put money away for anything we need. When we got home I sat Kimiyko down and told Kimiyko. “Honey, I think it’s time I get a job, ok?” She smiled at me and nodded. “Ok Kotako, Tomorrow we shall go look for a job for you.” I smiled at how easy it was to tell her. I grabbed her hands softly and kissed her.
We took a shower together then both got ready for bed. She was fixing Kilala in her bed area when I came in. Kimiyko had bought a book for job listings for me a while ago. She was planning on using it for her but I said I’d feel safer if she had stayed at home. She had agreed with me so we were ok.
The next morning I got dressed and looked over. I was a little surprised I had woken up before her even though she knew we were doing things today. So I made myself some quick breakfast, kissed her forehead, left her a note and then left
