If you're wrong about Higurashi, take a look here.
Why Higurashi no Naku Koro ni isn't

1. All about gore
2. "Killer Lolis"
3. ENDLESS EIGHT

Warning : there will be spoilers.

Is Higurashi all about gore and killing each other?

No.

You probably see a lot of people annoyingly saying Higurashi no Naku Koro is crazy and full of gore, well allow me to tell you those idiots are wrong.

In fact, the studio which adapted this series (Studio DEEN) did a horrible job, cut out a lot, and exaggerated with the murders from the visual novel.

Here are some visual novel images :

This isn't the best art, but let's ignore that.

As you can see here, with this art there's no way to focus on the gore. So why did season 1 have a lot of blood and murders? Simple, it is a psychological, horror, mystery, but Studio DEEN thought that having a lot of gore would attract viewers.

So keep this in mind : Higurashi no Naku Koro ni isn't all about killing. Even less about gore.

Is Higurashi really "Killer Lolis"?

No.

The only "lolis" in Higurashi are Furude Rika, Houjou Satoko, and Hanyuu. None of them are shown killing, with the exception of Rika being forced to commit suicide *so she can live the next world*.

I will explain what I meant by * in the last sentence, soon enough.

The only main (good) characters that are shown killing are Keiichi, Rena, and Shion. Only because they were highly affected by the Hinamizawa Syndrome (if you actually watched the anime, read the manga, or the visual novel you'd know what this is), not because they suddenly felt like killing.

So keep this in mind : Higurashi no Naku Koro ni is not "Killer Lolis", those are false names given by people who've seen very little to nothing of the series.

Warning : Season 2, Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai spoilers up ahead.

Is Higurashi no Naku Koro ni all about time loop? Like in ENDLESS EIGHT?

No.

Anyone who claims this has been misinformed or has paid little to no attention while watching or reading this series.

The true protagonist is Furude Rika who is killed on the day or several days later of the Watanagashi Festival. To try and live on and somehow find a way out of her deaths, her ancestor and God of the village, Hanyuu, lends her a hand. Which is (by their senses being combined) taking Rika's memories, traveling to a different Kakera (fragment that represents a parallel universe), and re-live the worlds with the memories of knowing what will happens and knowing she will be killed (of course she's trying to find a world where she's freed from this torture, or find who her killer is). (This is what we know or think what happens in Higurashi, for that see Umineko no Naku Koro ni).

See the fragments and the true protagonist?

So keep this in mind : Higurashi no Naku Koro ni is not all about gore and murders.

It's no "Killer Lolis".

It's no ENDLESS EIGHT.

Everything will be properly explained in Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai (season 2),Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Rei (OVA), Umineko no Naku Koro ni, and Umineko no Naku Koro ni Chiru
.

I understood the series from Kai. But many people only watch this to see gory stuff and blood. How disappointing. smile
