My Life Before This Part 37
"The year was 1792-the year I was born," he began. "My father was born a werewolf, and so was I. I lived in Germany. It was quiet nice there; I lived there for about 26 years. Anyway, my mother got severely sick when I was 7, and she died when I just turned 8. When I was 12 and 3 months my father gave me a piece of raw meat to eat. I had no idea why, for I usually ate cooked meat. After I ate it, I phased. Weird, huh? Anyway, my father expected this, and he taught me the ways of the wolf. He never phased anymore, so he aged, of course. And I stopped aging. Then, in 1816, my father died, at age 57. His last words were, 'You are a werewolf. Stay strong.' After my father died, I went to the beach and swam north to Norway.
"I lived there for a while. In 1829, I met a girl," Sam hesitated, then continued. "Her name was Miranda. I became friends with her, then fell in love with her. Miranda loved me just as much as I loved her, even though she knew I was wolf, but her parents didn't like me at all. They actually plotted to kill me! But actually, they ended up only killing Miranda! I was in the trap too, but I survived only because I can heal so quickly. They thought I was dead, so they dragged me out to the forest so the animals would finish me off. That's when I ran away.
"Then I swam across the sea again, not sure of where I was going. I ended up in the Netherlands. In 1872, I met Stephenie. She was so nice, and had a great personality. We were even engaged to get married! Then she disappeared in 1874. No explanation! We never did get married. Some say she was murdered, but I don't know if that was true. In despair, I swam northwest to the United Kingdom and landed in Scotland.
"I lived there for 14 years. One day, when I was looking for another place to live, I jumped through a bush into a small prairie-like meadow. I turned around and saw a girl. Brunette. About my age (my appearance age-not my actual age). The most beautiful girl I had ever seen, even though the first memory I have of her is her screaming."
I realized that the girl was me.
"And now the girl and I are in a little house in France, happier than ever." Sam smiled.
I leaned over and put my head on his shoulder.
"That was interesting," I said.
"Thank you. I live an exciting life." Sam and I laughed.
Now I knew all about Sam. Now all I had to do was figure out whether or not I should go to America! One part of me wanted to go, another part didn't. Which would I pick?
