Rapture finally explained about the serum he had given Thomas. The drink was a thing they called Selevan. Selevan brought out the extent of a persons latent ability. Their power that was inside all of them. His power was a shapeshifter and he used it well. Though of course this was after Thomas had beaten the hell out of Rapture.
After Rapture finally got up he was full of bruises and with a split lip. Rapture stood up and put his hand on Thomas's shoulder. "Okay, maybe i deserved that" he sad, almost laughing. "But now some ones gotta teach you how to use your power... more importantly what it is" he added on as an afterthought. He looked up at Thomas and smiled hard, he obviously thought was a winning smile but with the split lip and all it came out more of a scowl.
Up at the top of the house there was a lot of clouds and the house didn't really seem to be anywhere right now. It was all so odd. "so when you get a gift it seems to somehow... show itself. Some people know right away and some people take months to get a sign after they drink the serum. Were hoping yours is fast which most times it will be" he said looking up at the sky. "And here it comes" he said right as a bright flash lit up the sky. A flash very much alike the one that Odd Thomas had seen in that room so long ago. The light filled Thomas's head with visions. Visions of fire and smoke.
Again there was Rapture above him offering Thomas a hand. "So what did you see?" he asked curious. "Fire... Fire and smoke." Thomas explained quickly. Rapture just stared down on him. " So a boy named Thomas Flint has been given the element of fire." he thought in his head "oh how ironic" he thought afterwards. They climbed down the roof using stairs... actually he climbed... Rapture flew.
Back down on solid ground Thomas was instructed by Rapture to simply concentrate and your power would come out and show itself. Thomas wasn't so sure about that but he tried anyway. He just closed his eyes and concentrated on fire... Nothing happened. He looked up at Raptured confused and he was snickering, almost laughing but he had contained it. Now he was laughing full on. Thomas sighed and was now pissed. He started to go for Rapture but when he pulled his fist back his hand caught on fire and he just looked at his fist not feeling anything.
Fire. So he was fire. He love it. He put down his fist and just watched as the fire burned down. He flicked his wrist and and a small fire ball erupted from his palms. Thomas smiled as he thought of what he could do with this. He closed his eyes and imagined what breathing fire would be like. And when he opened his eyes he saw smoke coming out of his mouth. Maybe it was visualization that did it. This would be really fun.
When they were back in the house both him and Rapture had burn marks all over there clothes but they were to good to actually get hit. Rapture was sorta fun. He decided that he would go upstairs. He went to the right and looked down. He thought he saw a silver sparkle and a poof of dust arise. He just watched it disapear and all of a sudden there in front of him was a girl seeming about a year younger then him. She was a small thing with clothes based compltely on gray. She had a short dress that went up to about her thighs. He had short grey hair and a look that said "you move i kill you" she seemed over tense and it seemed like she was like that everywhere she went.
Her eyes were a complete solid grey with not a line or wrinkle left on her face. But mostly right now, Thomas was wondering where she came from. "My names Secilia, Secilia Sai and who are you?" she asked like she was just insulted. "ho- how- how did you-" he was so confused he couldn't really get out an answer. "Latent ability of movement" she explained expecting him to know what the hell she meant. "huh?" he asked barely audible. "Teleportation" this Thomas knew so he just nodded. "What do you do" she asked her face slightly softening now. Thomas smirked now actually knowing the answer and against her that seemed like an accomplishment. Instead of talking he just closed his eyes and let a small ring of fire appear in his hand. Out of the ring shot a bird bright red with a slight glow to it. He loved how simple his power seemed. It was amazing, and thrilling.
