Thomas Flint

The sky as dark as ebony rose up into an oblivion above his head. He wore only a tattered jacket and a pair of pants ragged and full of holes. He walked slowly forward. He had been on this road for years now. He ran his hands through his sliver almost white hair and tilted his head up to the sky. His red eyes looked through looked searching the sky for something. Not really anything in particular but something. Finding nothing he looked forward and walked down the lonely road ahead of him.
The sky, an endless bank of darkness an despair. Thomas frowned when he saw the sight in front of him. The clouds had parted the sky leaving a bright half moon rising from its bed up high. It cast a pale light, dashing the world with a silver paint brush. In front of him was a large house, it looked out of place in this barred waste land. It was a house in the old victorian style, columns and archways and everything. Thomas was suprised because even in the gloom of the night he had good night vision yet he did not see the house before now. Questions flickered through his mind now.
"Is it safe?"
"Can i take shelter there?"
and
"Where did it come from?"
Not knowing the answer to his last question dis-stressed him the most. He slowly walked up to the house seeing that no light escaped from the boarded up windows he decided he would maybe knock first and see if anyone lived here. His hand lifted up and was about to come down on the knocker when the door opened.
A blinding light shot forth from the open doorway. A bright radiance that seemed out of this world. Standing in the doorway there was a shiloutte of a girl seeming about his age. When he got accustomed to the light he could see her more clearly. She had very pale skin just like his, her face was very small and almost seemed perfect. She had red hair that ran down her neck going all the way to the small of her back. Her eyes were a green, blue, gold color that always seemed to change whenever she moved.
"Welcome Thomas Flint, my name is Arabella, to be known as Mistress Arabella." she said a slight exageration on the word mistress. By the way she spoke her voice was what she looked like it but simply the way she talked made her seem older then she looked. And how did she know his name? "Welcome to the House of Selaratis, a home to all those who may find it, when needed." Before the sentence she did a quick curtsey as looked appropriate for the maroon dress made like one you would see t an old ball.
Inside, the house was much larger then it seemed from outside. Right at the entrance there was a great large stair case leading into two corridors. On the bottom of the steps there was also two hallways leading into different directions. There were at least 20 doors in each hallway, and he guessed that they lead to different rooms, each one of them. The house seemed to be trapped in the times of old where everything was extravagant and gold with red carpets rolling along the floors.
Thomas decided sudently that he wanted to explore. He started climbing the staircase when a large falcon swooped in from the right corridor taking the turn onto the stairs sharp. The large bird flew to Arabella and right before his eyes turned into a human. The man now standing in front of Arabella was short and sorta round. His hair was long and brown slicked back with to much gel. He wore an ordinary blue polo shirt with khaki shorts. Both of them talked for a short while after they were done talking Arabella gave the man a small vile filled with a, almost clear, blue vile. The man raced up to him faster the Thomas had expected. "Hi my names Rapture, welcome to this house, your rooms on the left up the stairs, its the sixth door." he exclaimed somehow all in one breath. "Oh yes and..." he stopped short at that. Then quick as a flash Rapture flicked Thomas's throat and side of his jaw and instinctively his mouth somehow opened on its own. At this time Rapture un corked the vile and poured the liquid down Thomas's throat.
The liquid in the small vile was... well vile, it was vile. It burned hell fire through his throat. Thomas saw Rapture staring up at him looking slightly sad. After a few minutes of excrutiting pain Thomas slowly felt the pain fade away. He looked up and saw the Rapture was still there. "Sorry friend, you needed it if you were to survive here." Rapture said softly as he put out a hand to help up Thomas.
