IN GAIA: I finally found a group nice enough to help me through the Shallow Sea in zOMG!, which is great, because I wasn't even planning on going down there until I hit a solid 10.0. Everyone seems to want to do hard, and now I can see why. A well-organized team with a good leader (HeiXue, I'm talkin' 'bout you) can clear the Sea within half an hour, and reap big rewards too (over 200 orbs, and enough to bring my 9.4 to a 9.7). Alas, we didn't make it to the end boss, which is fine by me because it was around 1 a.m. at that point and I think I'd be more comfortable taking him on easy. I feel like I'll play zOMG! less once I'm done, but who knows? I still want to make the final four recipes (the ones you get from the end boss), so I'll be playing through a few times at least. I just wonder how long it'll be until they release episode 2.
IN REAL LIFE: Yesterday, Sandra came over to celebrate the birthday of Sir David Bowie. We had a cake with Aladdin Sane's lightening bolt on it and everything! We were planning on watching Labyrinth and The Man Who Fell to Earth, but I've found that when Sandra and I are together, we tend to just absolutely throw away all of our plans, usually in favor of cuddling or something else equally as cute. Alas, I'm still in recovery from surgery, meaning that awkwardly cute was the best I could manage (though she more than compensated for it).
James dropped in for the cake as well, which was just lovely, because I haven't actually seen him in months. Still, he didn't stay for long. He was leaving with my brother, Mike, to hang out with some of their friends, the local party variety. Hi Mike, I see you've decided to read my journal. Thanks for approaching this maturely, the same way I approach what you do on Gaia maturely.*koff*
I didn't mind too much (since James has a tendency to overstay his welcome), but sometimes I wish his coming over didn't constitute Mike blasting Lil Wayne or Kid Cudi (sp?) the whole time. At very least, I got to listen to Bowie while eating my cake...
On another little note, I noticed that both Mike and James were wearing scarves when they left last night (James went so far as to point it out to me). Guess who predates them by a whole year in that department? wink

Strange Afflictions
Odd things happen to me and I write them here. It's been pretty slow lately.
