Purgatoria Uhe was sitting in her Government class, bored out of her mind as the teacher went on another off-topic story. Can it get any more boring? She thought. It wasn't going to stay that way for very long...

Toria spotted a little ball of fluff moving around in the dust...or, at least she thought it was moving.

It was.

As she watched, Toria recognized the ball of dust--air fluff. It pounced on the teacher, clearly looking for lunch, finding none on the skinny frame. Then it turned to the students. All hell broke loose.

Grabbing a ruler, Toria did the one thing her fellow students weren't: she faught back. While her classmates screamed for their lives, she whacked at the ball of air fluff with the ruler, but the only effect it was having on the fluff was getting it more pissed.

Things weren't about to get any better. There were more air fluffs, and they were all over. Toria whacked away at the things as she tried heading for the door, but they were just getting madder than before.

Then a man in all black and a bite mask flew past, twin katanas blazing. He cut down most of the Animated without trouble. Then he turned to Toria.

"There's not much time." He said. "Take this. It's got your Rings and PDA in it." He shoved a black box with the G-Corp symbol on it, then shot out the window.

"Wait a sec! Who are you?!" Toria shouted after him, but when she looked out the window, he was gone.

As she was distracted, one of the fluffs attacked her from behind, knocking her to the ground. The box went sliding. Getting up in a hurry, Toria grabbed the box again and opened it. She took out the PDA and hooked it to her belt, then put the four rings inside on her fingers.

As she put them on, her clothes changed. The j-rock hoodie, black cargo pants and combat boots morphed into the image of her Gaia avatar; black mistress skirt and top, leather stiletto boots, fishnet stockings, and a porcelain half-mask covering her face. In addition, her appearance changed; her short black hair changed into brunette locks tied up into a pair of puffy pigtails, forming the image of a deadly Gothic Lolita.

Deadly to the Animated.

Toria activated her Mantis ring, slicing away at the Animated with twin katanas. It took her only seconds to get to the door.

Her PDA beeped. She took it off her belt and checked it. "Shadows10000 nearby" it said.

Shadows10000. Kira! Toira thought. It was first hour--that meant Kira was in her NJROTC class. No doubt the Animated were attacking there as well.

Heading for the nearest stairwell, Toria ran down to the first floor. Who knows what the earth-bound creatures could do down there...
