The story: I'M SORRY ABOUT THE FREAKIN' SHOES!!! AND I'M SORRY ABOUT THE STUPID GODDAMNED HAIRPIECE!!!!!!! I must have spent *hours* trying to find good, sensible-yet-pretty-yet-not-overwhelming fantasy-type shoes/boots, and even longer trying to do Matoh-sensei's ridiculously intricate hair ornaments even the smallest amount of justice, but it was Not To Be. This is my sorry final effort, it all its same and glory. I just couldn't resist the robe/swirly hair combo. Pictured here with his charge/employer/lust interest/maybe love interest/maybe lover Prince Val (or Vald, or Valdir, or Valdrigue, depending on which translation you're using) of Alswieth (or Auschwiel), and his perpetual annoyance, the shapeshifting dragon/pink-haired teenager/flying rabbit Rulca (or Ruruka).
