Upon finishing Death Note...
What is Justice?
What is Kami?
Justice is not Judgment.
Justice is not taking lives in an innocently rotted, adolescent world.
NO.
Justice is--Justice is--!!
Finding others' wrongs.
We do not Judge their punishment;
We do not punish them.
We only point out their wrongs.
Justice does not accuse.
Does Justice save?
By finding a serial killer are lives saved?
No, but by their apprehension & restrainment.
So...in essence, Justice cannot save.
Only Judgment can.
But, who is to judge?
Kami?
What even makes a God?
Power?
Fame?
A minor mutation in one's genome making them unable to feel pain?
Omniscience?
Truly, something must make a
Modern God.
But what?
If Judgment is impaired, but not Justice, then
Why do humans Judge things out of their control & context?
Why indeed.
Perhaps HOW is a better question.
HOW is it that a hairless meat sack came to the top of the food chain, sat at the top for a few Mellennia, and then decided that it was the closest thing to God, and then, eventually, the Modern God.
How I ask.
HOW?!
In a way we're like that "third breast" you're spouting from your forehead.
Only the face is Earth's history & it's picture day.
We want to be significant in existence,
Know that our chosen meaning--or lack-there-of if one so chooses--was right.
If there is no Judgment, what is "right"?
What is Justice?
