It took some convincing, but Alachia was able to get Flan to agree to come along. As the four neared the Barton Cliffs, Alachia asked n**, "What did you mean about Dual Natured?"
"Just about everyone in the DD and HDD has at least two forms--human and non human," n** replied. "Nissa and I lack what you would call human form. I'm a vampire and a witch, Nissa is an android, a hologram, and a spaceship."
"Glorious Heritage Heavy Cruiser class," Nissa said. "The best of the best of the High Guard's space fleet. I have come across several space ships that would do well in the High Guard's space fleet, but none yet so large as myself."

< I may meta-human powers, but I'm not the walking undead, a robot with three distinct personalities, or able to change my form to better suit my environment. >"Are you sure you can't transform?" Alachia asked Flan.
< Illusions, > Flan replied.
< Nothing more, nothing less. >Reaching the Barton Cliffs, Alachia wrapped an arm around Flan's midsection and pulled her close. "Well whatever it is you do, you'd better start."
As Alachia jumped off the cliff with Flan in one arm and n** and Nissa closely behind, Alachia transformed into her mermaid form.
< I need air you damned fish! > Flan cried.
Moving Flan into a better position, Alachia pressed her mouth against Flan's and breathed normally. Once Flan indicated she was fine for now, Alachia released Flan to swim on her own so she could lead the way to Poseidon's underwater castle. Pausing every five minutes so that Alachia could breathe air into Flan, they reached the castle in about a half hour.
< I hope it has a built in airduct system, > Flan said.
< While Fishie is a very good kisser, I'm getting tired of sucking air every five minutes. >"Nothing to worry about," Alachia said, her voice slightly distorted by the water. "Poseidon has to have someone to kiss his tailfin so he imports hum--what is Neptune doing here?!"
A figure had burst out of the castle and was heading straight for the four of them.
"Do your thing before he gets too close!" Alachia said to Flan.
< Three mermaids coming up, > Flan said.
