People say...

Dinah is strong-willed, thick-headed, and very aggressive. This isn’t to say that she is rude and unbearable. On the contrary, the reason most people have such a high opinion of her is because Dinah is very efficient in voicing her opinions and concerns. Though she rarely holds her tongue, she delivers those opinions with tact and consideration of the consequences of her words. She is kind and gentle in mannerisms. She can often seem cold and usually cruel when she is serious, though this is just because she tends to take on a “no nonsense” attitude when trouble arises. More than anything, she is passionate about finding a solution to the current war, and would gladly lay down her life for those she loves. However, Dinah disagrees with jumping into battle blindly, and prefers to take a more diplomatic approach if possible.

Through my life, I have seen

During the early years of her life, Dinah was brought up to be an intelligent and cunning thinker, but never a worrier or strategist. Why would she have needed to worry about things like how to win a war when her older brother was the Arani, heir to the Diente. She and her two younger sisters were raised to focus on becoming graceful and happy little girls, while their brother was to become the war hero. Much like it always does, this did not last very long. By the time Dinah was eleven, she was the new heir to the throne, having no more brothers and being the eldest of the three girls. It was then that she began lessons in combat and self-defense, in which she excelled. At first, she was driven by vengeance, determined to pay the avians back for taking away her brother. Soon after, however, Dinah learned that seeking an eye for an eye solved nothing. Battle after battle rages on in front of her eyes. But nothing ever changed or got better. How was this war being won by either side?
To make matters worse, the smallest of her sisters has also been lost in the bloodshed. And in Dinah’s eyes, it was all for nothing. Another useless battle where her people died simply because it was all that they knew. Dinah promised herself that she would find another way to win or cease the war, even if it meant her own life in the process. When an invitation came from the avian prince, Dinah was tired enough of the bloodshed. Despite many objections, she accepted the invitation.
