Hey, just another poem. What can I say, I get bored and I have a restless mind. sweatdrop Well, here it is:
The Happiest Lie By: Jen Nolan 11/21/05
It ended whenshe was eleven But it all started when she was seven All the blood and the marks Things sometimes went very dark
"It's nothing" she would say to her friend The questions soon began to end Relief on the inside, but not on the outside The pain continued because she lied
All the questions should have been protective But the pain was certainly was selected In the night, all alone She would cry and moan
He would always hurt her in the night Even if there wasn't a fight "Please daddy, I love you" But on the inside it was, "The love should come from you."
"I need to tell someone." she said to her image She took out her notebook and began to scribble a passage 'It was all his fault, I didn't need to die.' She knew that he would make up a lie
Next day at school, infront of a girl Her knees shaking, her head in a whirl "Can I see your arm?" She seemed nice, didn't mean any harm
Down the hall and to the right She hoped the best with all her might " Can't you see? He beats her Dan." "She just doesn't understand."
Sick of being treated as a child All the feelings at a mild "Ready to go?" She hopped in the car as it drove slow
In a wierd smelling place She saw an interesting face "How many times did her hurt you?" More questions, she didn't know what to do
"All the time" she said with a tear She wished that her mom could be near In the car again, back to the house Inside, she felt as small as a mouse
Again she head in even more of a whirl Her and her stomach stated to stir He came home later that night Him and her brother got in a fight
Blood all over his face She wished she could get out of that place Her brother on the floor For he would awaken nevermore
She ran to the door, her arms outstretched She is whom her father would catch More blood, her own In that moment she was alone
She fell to the blood, on the floor She watched her father drag him out the door She looked to the sky She asked the question, "Why..."
Her body felt cold In her hand felt a hold A hold of a hand, in her own She was no longer alone
Her real body, lay sprawled across the floor Her dad seeing she would live nevermore Her dad fell to his knees As her hair moved by the whip of the breeze
Her mother and brother, nice and clean Her father had been so very mean "Are you happy dad. I'm glad if you are." "Now I can be happy, and fly with the stars"
No more blood, no more tears Just more happy, for many more years Her mother and brother, flying at her side In some ways now, she was happy that she had lied
