last nights snippit was like something out of a comic, Spawn maybe.

Anyway, it focused on a mob of teens, one who falls/ was pushed to his doom. he and his mates are all latent super beings and the free falling guy is shocked when the ground opens and he falls into a different, hellish dimension. all he was thinking was that he didn't want to die.
he is taken and contorted into a slave soldier for these demon like beasts, his job, stealing souls like an incubus and transferring them to his new masters. He doesn't like this but the shape he has been forced into is messing with his head and he can't think straight anymore. Worse he's seeing less and less reason to fight his new instincts. his girl wasn't there when he fell or things might have turned out different.

now she is desperate to get to him. worried sick about him and then miserable again when she does. he can't stand the light of their world anymore with out his masters sending him out on a mission. he can take his former human form only on their orders and therefore be shielded by that form. His masters sense the power of those he was with, especially his girl, and they want those souls.

he is sent back several times but his gradually awakening peeps feel that something is wrong. His free will is limited but he doesn't want to hurt them, he is fighting the instincts of his form and it shows. His girl tries to reconcile with him several times but he has to run from her before something dire happens.

Somehow or rather she learns what's really going on and figures out a way to get into his masters realm. he almost falls over in shock when he sees who it is coming down with the bosses in the special elevator between realms. Anyone but her, please!

She's all dressed up like she's going to a job interview and looking around with interest. Her guide continues on till he reaches his masters but the girl stops by her tormented man. She's sick of the messing about and she'd like to give him all of her. See, in the time he's been gone she's been miserable and suffering but determined to find him and get him back, one way or another. her suffering has awakened her power early and due to that it will probably have a dire effect on her. She doesn't think she has very long. Anyway, she is something called a Star Seed and her heart, her core, blazes with the purifying power of a star. She suspects they took him to lure her to them but she isn't sure. In any case, she wishes to give herself to him, all of her. She loves him and though he's trapped and contorted, she can't leave him alone. She wants him to accept her core, her heart and keep it for her. She trusts him utterly and completely.

He accepts her with a rear spark of free will. It can't change him back to being human though it can shield him from his now 3/4 demon body. In essence his demon instincts are sealed, restoring his clarity of thought and humanity and severing his link to those who enslaved him. After all, he no longer needs the power they feed him to survive. He has his own inbuilt power source now and a purpose. as his beloved transferred her heart to him with a kiss and vanished in a blaze of light, she told him she would return some day, when conditions were right for them to be together once more. Wait for her.

Oh he'll wait alright, for eternity if he must. he'll wait so he can return to her what is hers and live and die with her.

His first reaction to her disappearance is to pounce on those responsible for his former demonic state and smack them around. with his new power they can't touch him and they're horrified at how things have turned out. Their game plan in taking him was to net her as well. Either she would join them voluntarily to be with him, trade herself for his freedom or he would turn her power over to them as his instincts commanded. They really wanted her power to corrupt as Star Seeds are only born once every couple of thousand years and if they could get their hands on that sort of power and corrupt it they would be unstoppable. It was his misfortune to be dating the first latent Star Seed to be born on his home world.

He is ropable, how DARE they. He rips the souls they have tricked/stolen free of the pair and releases them after telling them to go were they were meant to go. if their physical body is still around, the soul will return to it, if it isn't it will go to their after life for reward, punishment or rebirth as was intended before it was so taken by the demon creatures.

When the last soul is ripped free of the pair and released, he unfurls his wings and leaps, activating to rift to leave the place with out conscious thought. he settles on the edge of his realm and theirs, wondering what he should do with himself now.

He wonders the human world from time to time and one time while he is he meets a girl who reminds him somehow of his beloved. She should, she is the younger sister of his girl. She tells him the story of how her sister went missing 16 years ago, looking for her man who had been kidnapped and mind controlled. She rather hated that guy as she'd adored her sister, even though it wasn't his fault.

he tells what happened from his perceptive and as he does, the core of cleansing fire at his heart flares a bit, a coil of flame wrapping gently around the girl who bursts into tears. Now she knows what has happened and her hatred has melted away. She can get on with her life now.
He tells her of his desire to wait for her sister's return and she says he should find something useful to do now... her sister wouldn't want him to just sit about, squandering his abilities and her flame.
She has a point but he doesn't know what he should do.

How about find those who perverted him and see what he can do to keep them from messing up other peoples lives... he can do that and so he does.

He takes to patrolling the edges of the realms and removing the soul hauls of those minions he captures. He doesn't get all of them but he does make a difference and he goes out of his way to see what happened to him doesn't happen to some other hapless couple.

Every now and then, something will attract his attention in the human world and he watches over the family line of his beloved. he doesn't really expect her to be reborn among them... that would be to easy, but he does feel he should keep an eye on them for her... that's the only thing he can do for his lady now.

Several generations later a girl is born with a seed of darkness, a demon egg in her and it's affecting her mind and the way she grows. She doesn't like her behavior either, she just can't help it.
When she's about twelve or so, he appears to and explains what's going on. The demon riding shot gun and so on. He could help her with that if she wishes but she feels there's a destiny or something about this and so asks to be left for now.
Very well, he agrees but if things don't turn out as you hope, call me and i will do my best for you.
She thanks him and he disappears.
Things do play out as they should and she meets the light talented boy she was meant to and he does eventually purify and cure her, freeing her of her demon 'guest' and helping to fill the void after it is gone. What to do with it though, she has no wish to kill it. it can't help what it is. Then she remembers her 'uncle' (he was startled when she called him that though he has become family legend) and they think to send the creature there... telling it to go where it should be.

From then on 'uncle' has a companion in his wait and both are being slowly modified and changed by the pure core he carries with in him.
