Bang!
I froze with shock;
From the startling sound.
Then I felt semething wet,
Run down the front of my chest.
I looked down;
It was blood.
Then came a piercing pain;
That coursed through my body.

I had been shot.
I fell to the ground;
Motionless.
I ciuld feel,
The life leaving me;
With each breath.
A cold sensation swept over me;
As the wet blood,
Ran down my chest.
It no longer hurt;
The pain had subsided.

Everything that happened;
Happened so fast;
And yet,
It felt like ages.
Almost like time,
Was standing still.
Then I lost all sense of time;
Like time no longer,
Existed.

As I lay on the ground,
I knew I was near my end.
It was the strangest thing;
To know I was dying.
I was not afraid;
Of death.
But still,
I wanted to stay;
To live.

I do not know why,
My life had never been easy;
But it was my life;
And I was not adout to let someone take it.
I had never wanted anything,
So badly before.
I guess it is who,
I am.
I would do everything I could,
To stay alive.

I was growing weaker;
My energy was leaving me.
I could not move;
Or even make sound.
All I could do,
Was waiting for someone to come;
To help.

My vision got blurry;
Then faded to black.
I thought to myself,
Someone will come;
I just need to hold on;
And wait it through.

My sight come back;
No one was there.
Things went black again;
I can not hang on much longer.
Now I am more close to death than ever,
My breath virtually nonexistent.
But still I refuse to give up.

A sharp pain suddenly coursed through my body;
My sight returned once more.
A young man,
Was standing over me;
Someone had come.
He tended to my to wounds;
And nursed me back to health.
But I will never forget,
What it is like,
To be dying.
