“I love his hair,” Autumn sighed contentedly as she picked up a stray leaf and began to fiddle with it. The weather began to reflect her name as the temperature dropped and the leaves changed color only to fall from the tall trees on the estate. She wore a neon colored fluffy skirt with thick leggings beneath it to battle the weather. She wore no jacket; her internal temperature was high enough to provide her warmth in the cold. She did wear long sleeves though, because of Jasper’s insistence. “It’s so fun to mess with.” Next to her, her sister let out a short laugh. Autumn would always run her fingers through Jasper’s hair every chance that presented itself. There were times the vampire didn’t mind, but other times…he was hard to find.
“Which is why he is hiding,” Kristina blew a cloud of smoke from her lips, surprised that Autumn had not yet confiscated her cigarette. Not that she was complaining. “You just want to mess it up today.” She was not surprised by the eager nod her younger sister gave her and the Cheshire grin on her face. “Don’t know why he puts up with you.” The grin quickly turned into a scowl as she reached over and snatched the cigarette and burnt it to ashes. “Damn it Autumn!” Kristina growled.
“At least my relationship doesn’t have issues.” Autumn said in a way too pleasant tone.
“I don’t have issues…he does. I could throw a brick at his head and he wouldn’t get a clue!” Kristina grumbled as she turned her gaze to the sky, still upset that her last cigarette was gone. Not for the first time, Autumn wondered how in the world the two hard heads got along. Jasper was exactly was Autumn needed, someone to calm her down from time to time. In turn she showed him how to let loose and have fun. With those two, however, it was just feeding the fire to make a bigger fire. No one had time to even let out a surprised squeak when a blur jumped over Autumn and tacked Kristina.
“Hello my dear,” a soft voice spoke next to the redheaded fire girl. This time she did squeak before all but pouncing on Jasper.
“How long were you there?” She asked as she wrapped her arms around his midsection.
“Not long, Logan merely overheard your sister.” He wore a grin on his face that indicated he found it rather amusing. Kristina let out a rather undignified shout as she found herself trapped between the ground and her boyfriend.
“Are you two just going to sit there and watch?” She yelled.
“Yep!” Autumn grinned as she snuggled further into Jasper.
“No help at all….” Kristina grouched.
