Hyperintelligent Beast of Burden
Yes, lots. No, none at all.
You know, I never thought I'd be one of those people that needed a schedule to keep track of my appointments and responsibilities, but my life seems to need some organization. I'm still able to keep track, understand, but I've had a couple of narrow misses... I almost missed submitting some schoolwork the other day, and I was rushed this Tuesday because I forgot that I had a Libertarian thing at 6:00.... and I'd scheduled myself to get off at 6:00. Whoops. Luckily, the meeting wasn't until 6:30 (it was delayed). Having left about 13 minutes early from work, (see? There goes that whole "need time" thing; I'm not saying 10, but 13... and it mattered, dammit) I was able to be more or less on time.

Ah, but speaking of school.... I think I may stop attending come Spring. It has been taking up a lot of my time of late... and considering I now work a full time shift, (40+), this near-full time class load isn't working for me. I've got my degree anyway, and I've pretty much tapped TCC as far as this area of education is concerned, so I'll either transfer to another degree, or I'll just let my remaining 4 months rest for the time being. Of course, without the G.I. Bill, I'll have to get paid more. I'm working on a couple of avenues as far as that is concerned. One is to get the pay more or less competitive at my currrent employer. Another, of course, is to seek other means of income. Both are options, though I prefer the former.

What have I been doing for fun? Well, lots. I attended a Celtic festival in which there was log throwing and various amusements. I bought a decorative sword. I attended a re-enactment of a revolutionary war battle, and inquired about joining the re-enactors in the future ('tis expensive, so we'll see). I'm somewhat fond of the rifleman idea, but.... like I said, we'll see.

Perks from work.... a major motivation for me. I've been hunting down pretty much anything that offers free stuff for my retailer. The way I figure it, the effort in taking most of the training offered is worth the reward, even where the reward isn't anything but a prize. For one, I do a lot of this still from work. For two... well, I like learning. I like knowing about technology.

I've got (at last estimate) about $900 of stuff in two months. That's a nice little bonus for a bit of effort, eh?
