OK, so dad's fine. He just got a little overheated, so yeah... Moving on. Sharon & Diane showed up at the house today & of course it was painful to be.....not nice, but...ah! That's the word: tolerant. I finally got in touch with Noelina & I got the envelope for the Kuddles thing. ((I know you have no idea what either of things mean, so I'll update you in a moment.)) Aside from that, I slept all day.
OK. Kuddles--> Baby food brand. Diane bought it for me I guess because it was cheap & she figured if Sophi liked it, she could stop buying Gerber & Beech*Nut, but her plan was foiled. Muahaha. If Sophi likes it, we'll never know, because I'm never allowing anyone to buy that brand for my child ever again. When I opened the package I found black hairs in it. Ok, aside from Sophi, noone in my household has black hair & Sophi wasn't around when I opened it. I called the manufacturers & got to play 20 questions: What color was the hair? What store was it bought from? Please read everything on the package it came in. Blah blah blah. So, the woman I talked to says "We don't want the food, we just need the hairs for examining & crap." So, now that I have the envelope they want me to send it in, I get to dethaw baby food & go at it with a pair of tweezers to pluck out some stranger's hair. Oh, joy. She sent me some little puff things to make up for it, but instead of opening them, we gave the packages to Sophi to use as maracas. XD
Ok. This one's my favorite. Woman to Woman is a mentor program for teenage moms. The only comitment you have to make is every third Saturday of the month you go to a workshop & get lectured & stuff, right? So, I call the Supervisor lady...basically the chick who assigns you your mentor, because Sharon said if I didn't get in touch with her soon, she was going to drop me from the program. And she's all "[insert my name here]! OMG! I was worried about you! How are you!?" And I tell her I'm fine & I apologize for not making it to last month's workshop & for my idiot mother not giving her my new # & address & I warn her I may not make it to this month's meeting because I'm going to a convention with my friends. Here's the funny part. Noelina asks "What type of convention?" & I'm like: redface sweatdrop "It's anime, which is basically Japanese cartoons & comic books & stuff" & I get the complete opposite of what I was expecting...Let's face it, normally when you tell someone who is in a government- funded program that you're ditching their group session to go play with your friends, they tend to be a little grumpy. However, Noelina's all: "OMG! I love that kind of stuff, when is it? Where is it? Can I come, I love Inuyasha & Naruto's amazing" So naturally I'm like eek surprised "It starts the 19th & I'll get the details from one of the friends that's going....." So she gets my info & she's like "I don't have my calendar on me. When can I call you to set up some stuff. Blah blah blah" I didn't hear half the stuff she said because I'm still in shock that this woman is not only letting me go to the convention, but wants to come check it out herself. How weird is that? I mean I think it's cool & a relief & everything, but damn....Wasn't expecting it at all.
