"There is no time to speak of this now! Is my ship ready?" The events fore-told almost thirty years ago would come to pass or not no matter what he did.

Anar followed slow, behind Merrick. A quick displacement would not suffice here, not with the Oalend dogs sniffing after magic. Anar knew that Merrick's safes course was to follow the sea to Helloan bridge, the passage place to the Tuath's world. These Columns had stood since the beginning of all things it is said, a gate way to all places.

Merrick stopped, looking about and listened to the skrieking calls of the might walrachs, the dragon watchers, as they soared high in the shies of his beloved home. Turning his gazed one last time at the high cliffs and rich earth of the isle. he felt the weight of his responsibilities and knew this challenge would define his tenure as high chieftain. If he should fail 'twould be a first for the House of Fiery, and perhaps a last for his people.

The passage through the columns was the most difficult part of his journey, and he'd always had magic to see him through it before, but this time he could not chance it. Not with the Witch's seeker look for a way to track them. No this time he would have to leave the magic behind, and hope that he would not have need of it!


The trip to the columns pass quickly and in the passing of just on day they arrived, to the Meeting of the Worlds, as this place was also know as. The soft morning mist was still hanging about the Island as they move in to place.

"If only there were another way Merrick."

"I can't think of naught, Ara. Even if I were to displace, 'twould only move me a few minutes back or forward."

She nodded. "Please take care, cousin. Do not draw that witch and her seeker to you by using your magic. You should be alright if you can avoid them."

"Aye. I'll have no reason o conjure. Once I locate the key, I'll find the stone and the return."

"Then, by the Word may you return to us soon. Take care cousin."

Moving forwards Merrick, lifts his hands drawing in the air the Symbols of Journey in to the air, the red glow of the spell burning into the air, he speaks the word and with a brighting is lifted into the air and towards the pillars.
