Journal
A journal for me to rant.... and rant.... But moreover, please satisfy this shy writer's desire of reviews.
My Companion
I had some stuff written here, but then I lost it 'coz I left the computer for too long. It was about how I was bored and stuff, so it's not that interesting.

Well I just wanted to get this out. Light's a person, by the way. Not Death Note though.

The smell was atrocious. Overflowing trashcans hemmed the valley, sweating noxious damp. Light paused over a filthy puddle, frozen by his own reflection.

A huge gash had buried itself across his cheek. A sheet of crimson blood slowly slid down his face. Light wiped it away but the blood replenished itself. Gingerly he raised his sleeve to his face and sat down on an overturned trashcan.

The slash through his blazer cut to the skin, but not much deeper. He had been lucky. That would've killed him otherwise. His right arm was still functioning despite its wounds.

Light sighed and lowered his hand from his face. It was cold out but he felt feverishly warm. His sweat stuck his clothes to his body. Or at least he hoped it was sweat and not anything else.

Something pulsed on his back at the spot where he'd been hit by the spirit sniper. Light tried to sooth it but found his limbs too heavy. Instead he looked around, trying to occupy his mind with something other than pain.

Something rattled farther down the alley. Light's pulse quickened but then he calmed himself down.

Don't worry about it. It's just a stray. And if it isn't, it doesn't matter anyways. I'm tired...

The rattling ceased and sure enough, a flea bitten rag slouched out of the garbage. The mutt was brown and small with lopsided ears. An infection spread across its right paw. It snuffled over to him, two hopeless remnants drawn together.

"Shoo, dog."

The dog whined under Light's cold glare. Light flicked at it with his shoe.

"Shoo. I don't need you."

The dog only shuffled closer.

"Go, vermin. I don't have the heart to kick you."

Whining, the dog planted himself on Light's foot.

"You want to give me fleas, do you? Well I don't need your pity. I'm beat up enough, discarded from grace, left to rot. Your simpathy can only make me lower. Like I'd accept kindness from the only one lower than me. Only the people who think they can winn can lower themselves. For the rest of us, it's an uphill battle, and we can't afford to take a single step down."

The dog whimpered as Light pushed himself up. On weak legs, he headed back towards his school, not knowing where the hospital was. Light had made it back onto the street when a shuffling sound followed him. He looked down to find the mud brown eyes of the dog looking into his.

"Stupid dog."

Light lowered his hand and rested it on the dog's head. The mutt panted its delight. A truck roared by. All that remained of the dog was a smear of blood on the sidewalk and a crimson pattern on Light's clothes.

Light's cruel, no? You know how those heroes and heroins of stories always befriend poor, starving animals? Well Light's a demon, and he kills them. I should do a character profile of him for you, but not now. I hope you enjoyed it.
