no name, Ch 5
...Ricky latched onto the ladder on the outside of a boxcar and began to climb.

Meanwhile, inside the castle, General Hemmer of England walked through the prison. He was told that there was a new prisoner, and he was looking forward to…convincing him to join the British. Hemmer was in charge of the ‘persuasion of prisoners’. He remembers one prisoner that was unusually strong willed. He thought of all the things that he did to that one, Doc, Drew or whatever his name was.

Hemmer got to the cell where Ricky once was just to find it empty. One of the men behind Hemmer began to sweat. It was the fifth time this month that a prisoner has escaped. General Hemmer walked into the cell and looked around. The chains were not broken, so someone had to have had a key. There was more than one sized footprint in the small amount of sand on the ground. When he turned to leave, however, is when he found his most important clue- a tiny shred of black fabric. Hemmer remembered a similar clue by where that strong willed prisoner was. He was convinced that these escapes were connected and someone, seeing as how they came for every other prisoner, was going to return for the children.

And he was determined to be ready.

The wind whipped at their cloaks as they made their way on top of the train. Dimitri yanked open a hatch on top of a car and they dropped in. Trent looked around, and picked up a box near him. He shook the box, shrugged, and pulled out his knife. Cutting the top open he saw- quill pens. Shaking his head, he crammed handfuls into a concealed bag within his cloak.

The plundering continued until the door flew open. It was one of the engineers. They all froze. The engineer was the first to make a move; he grabbed Casey, locked her arms behind her in one of his vice-like hands, took her knife and held it to her throat. She leaned her head away slightly from the blade. Ricky stepped forward, but Frankie and Aaron held him back, as the engineer pressed the knife closer to Casey’s flesh.

“Who are yeh? WHO?” Demanded the engineer.
Casey inhaled and drove an elbow into his side, causing him to release her arms. She turned and belted him in the jaw, putting him out of the fight. He fell to the floor, unconscious. Casey bent down and picked up her knife. Cramming it back into her belt she spoke softly.
“Everyone ready to go?”

When they got back, Casey found out that they had found a lone prisoner and had nowhere to put him. His name was Carter.

“He can take my room as long as he needs it.” Casey told her father later, when he and The League were talking about the days finds. Casey’s father looked over the inventory and nodded in approval.

“It is settled then. He takes your room, and we sell off half today’s finds. Anything else?” He asked, looking around.
“Yeah, Casey almost got killed today…” Frankie said casually, sipping his tea. Casey shot Frankie her 'look of death' as Frankie's news caused her father to choke on his tea.
“What!?” He sputtered. Casey rolled her eyes.
“I was in no danger at all. He wouldn’t have hurt me anyway…” she tried to explain.
“I will hear no more of this, and if I do, you will be suspended from the League.”

Casey’s eyes got big, and then she shrugged.

“Okay. Fine. It wont happen again, right Frankie?” She asked sinking her foot into his shin under the table. He let out a moan of pain, and trying to make it sound like a word, he spoke slowly.
“Auughh…yeah. Yeah whatever you say, Case…” he muttered in anger.
