It was a bright sunny afternoon on Birdo Island.The Birdos were all busy with their usual lives.The clouds that floated above the peaceful island were even busy,floating across the clear blue sky.If you looked at them,you could tell they were happy because of the smiles on their faces.The sun,and the koopas that flew past and to Birdo Island to deliver mail were also happy.Not to mention the elder of the island,the Great Birdo Tree.He was the happiest of all.As long as the island was safe,and the people on it were happy,then the Great Birdo Tree would share their feelings.But there was only one person who wasnt happy.This was Princess Birdo."I cant do this anymore.""Can't do what?"asked Birdo,painting her fingernails."What Im doing right now,staying on this boring island."Birdo stopped painting her fingernails,and looked at the Princess."Hey,this island isnt boring."Then Birdo stood up and started listing what she was gonna say with her fingers."You dont go to any dances,you dont go to the parades,and worse of all,"Birdo got quiet for a second."You dont talk to anyone."At that moment,the Princess got mad.Birdo knew that it was hard for her to make friends,especially since she was the only human on the island."Look,little miss wanabe.I dont go to those dances because,ok,did it ever occur to you that im the only human on this island?!"And second,Ive been to those parades,there all the same!And third,You know why I dont talk to anyone!"Because youre too closed up!You should try being more open like Peach!She talks to koopas,goombas,toads,and probably birdos!""I dont care!"the Princess shouted back.Thats only because she has stuff to do at the same time!"Birdo started talking quietly."You know what one thing you havent done on this island?YOU HAVENT TRIED TO LOOK FOR ANY FRIENDS!!!After that,Birdo started breathing from talking too much."You,dont get,it do you,The Princess spoke quietly.She just looked at Birdo with disappointment,then ran off and started crying.
Birdo didnt think shed go that far,so she ran after her."Wait,I didnt mean that!""Come back Birdo,let the Princess go...."spoke the Great Birdo Tree.Birdo looked at the tree,then at the Princess.Then she decieded it was better to listen to the tree,so she did as she was told,and sat in front of it."We must let her go,so she will learn that whatever decisions she makes,it will affect her life."Suddenly the sky got darker.Birdo noticed this."Great Birdo Tree,what is happening?""The island has gotten weaker,since the Princess isnt happy,"replied the Great Birdo Tree.Birdo looked down in shame."Do not worry,she will come back,"The Great Birdo Tree reassured her.
