We all wear masks. Only those truely comfortable with themselves will take it off.
Whats behind my smiling, cheerful mask you ask?
Behind my cheerful and smiling facade is a small child. A girl who has been tortured for many years. A girl who has seen so much in her like that would tear most people apart. She sits in a corner crying and sobbing constantly afraid to trust others, even herself. Just outside that small child is an older girl, who seems to be a little more confident but shows the fear and sadness. Now look a bit further out and you will see yet another mask, an young woman, tormented in highschool and forced towards suicide. Now that you finally pull away, you see the last mask over the small girl. It smiles at you and says nothing is wrong. She holds up a strong front and rarely shows her tears. She seems strong and confident and yet deep in her eyes you can tell she is tormented. You can see the pain she endures.
Now answer this. If you live with the mask for so long, can you ever feel able to take it off.
Do you have the courage to trust others with your true self?
Theses are the things that keep me up at night.
