Biography: Opal was born in Early Europe, right around the time the black plague ended. She was born to her mother and father, whom loved her very much. When she was born, she was given another name, but this is unknown due to the followingreasons. They loved her so much, that they would eventually end up dying for her. When Opal was about 2 years old, a massive uprising occurred. Her father, then about 28, was forced to defend his village with the other men. While the men of the village were all readying themselves for the fight, the opposing forces engaged in a surprise attack, hoping to suppress the defending forces enough to take them as slaves. Opal’s father would not stand to let them all become slaves to these savagesand so the battle raged on, the defending forces holding up quite nicely, when suddenly a very large man burst through the gates of the village. The man proved far supierior to all whom stepped forward to suppress him, Opal's father one of the men that tried to do this. . . .
After the attack, the opposing forces rounded up all of the women and children, killing any they thought were unworthy of serving them, or unfit. They eventually approached Opal and her mother, eyeing Opal carefully as they grabbed her mother and left Opal there, all alone. Alone she sat, until some time after when a traveling merchant came by and started to scavenge the remains of the village. Opal was crying in her house when the merchant heard her cries, and came to see what was wrong. Upon seeing the baby he lifted her up, and gave her the name Opal, for the glimmer in her eyes that reminded him of light shining off a small piece of Opal. He took her to the city, and gave her a home until she was about 10. On her tenth birthday, the merchant went on a voyage overseas for his business. He did not return from that voyage sadly. Opal lived alone for some time, waiting for him to come back. It took her about six months to realize that he was not going to be returning, and upon this realization, she left on a journey for herself. This being the second time she had been left to fend for herself. She traveled around the European countries, staying where she could, eating what she could, when she could. While laying in an alley one day, a tall pale man came to her and offered her a place to stay. Little did she know that he was a vampire. She accepted the offer, and went to his estate. This man was obviously very rich, he always wore suits, and his home was on his own private land. She was amazed by all of his possessions, the likes of which she had never encountered herself.
She had been staying at his home for maybe a month now, and she was being treated very well. The ‘Count’ had displayed a particular liking in her. She was always getting treated with the utmost respect, and she had really done nothing to deserve it. This puzzled her slightly, but it was a place to stay, out of the harsh elements she was used to, and promised meals, so she pushed her questions to the back of her mind, against her better judgement. She remained clueless as to his intentions, until one night. It was raining, as it seemed to do on most days there. Everything was relatively dark, and she was getting ready to go to bed. She put on her clothing, then headed upstairs to her room, when the Count stopped her and had her follow him. He often wished to show her things, things he thought she owuld like, or find entertaining, tonight however, was different. He took her up to a room that was mostly empty, but had a blood stain in the corner. She became scared. The count came close to her, looking her in the eyes, and bit her on the neck. Opal blacked out, her brain unable to keep up with the speed, nor the intensity of the events that had just happened to her.
She woke up on a city street, and sadly, had lost her memory of everything past. The only thing she knew, was her own name. She had become a vampiress, at the cost of her entire memory. From there she wandered the world, mostly traveling Europe, looking for someone, or something to live for. But every time she would meet someone, they would run from her because of her vampiric nature. Once in a while, shwou would find love, but it never seemed to last, this feeling was only intenstified due to the fact that she would not perish, as her lovers most often would. Through her years, wandering through Europe, she developed several ways of living, and providing for herself. She would deny her hungers, until she was forced to feed, or she would seek out bars that served to those of her nature. Also, she developed a strong sense of indiviuality, and took care of herself well, unknowingly reverting back to how she had lived just before she had been turned. She lived well, often hiding the fact that she was a vampiress so that she could live in one place for a while without incident. All in all she was alone, very alone. [/splice]
