As you probably know, we recently lost Shadow, my ten-year-old golden retriever and best friend. It's been a rough week, and me and Mom have been having trouble walking into the house without being tackled by a large, fuzzy projectile. We had a long talk today and decided that as much as we loved Shadow, and as much as we miss him, we simply aren't made to live without a dog. We decided to adopt a puppy, but there was one problem- when we got Shadow, Mom could take him to work with her when he was a baby. Her office moved to a new building last year, and now that won't be possible. Therefore, if we got a puppy he'd have to be at home by himself during the day. When I pointed this out, I said "Well, I guess we'll have to wait until summer so I can stay home with the puppy for the first three months." She had a better solution. That's right people- we're going to adopt TWO puppies.....next week!!!
