"You do not know...", he repeated as he lifted his head up. His eyes were those of a young man, mid twenties, I believe. I shook my head. The reason for floating on the feather I didn't even know, how could I know why I was wearing my night gown outside in the snow. I could not even remember that I had put on these clothes. Nor was I sure if these were my own.
My feet became numb as I tried to keep them warm by rubbing them against each other.
"Oh pardon me. I almost forgot to thank you for your cape", I said while making a small bow. The man told me there was no need for thanking him. "You need it more than I do, silly girl", he smiled a little, "you shouldn't be walking the streets dressed in nightwear."
Streets? If me feet would not have gone numb I would have felt the bricks of the road. I had not even took a closer look at the environment. We were in a small street with a dim light coming from behind the man. It was quite dark, but lanterns were placed on both sides of the road. Little high houses and stores filled the area next to the street. Many dark alleys were to be found between the buildings. It became clear to me that it was late at night since there was nobody out on the streets.
"Sir... Could you tell me how I got here", I had to know how I got here, "... Since you were the one pulling me out of the darkness." That must have sound very foolish, I thought to myself.
The man raised his eyebrow. He stepped back. "Darkness..? Little miss, you were on the ground with your eyes opened. I only helped you get up." I could hear he was surprised by my question
"But- I, I have no idea how I got here. I don't even know where here is. What is this town called?" I wrapped the cape around me tighter, frustrated because this man could not give me answers.
