What's Deserved Always Gets Served
Story Time Part 2!
...and, as would be expected, it's another zombie dream.

I woke up, lying down in the city streets, and I didn't know why. No cars were moving, little to no people were visible, and there were small fires everywhere. I stood up and looked around, as if to confirm where I was, but the area wasn't familiar anyway. My mind kept pressing on, telling me I "had to find her". And I did. I wasn't sure what had happened, but I knew that I had to be sure she was safe... and willing to flee from this hellhole. I needed to find her, but I didn't know where I was going. I didn't know what happened, but I knew it wasn't safe here. I needed a weapon. I ran to the nearest liquor store, thinking they usually had a means of defense in case of a robbery. When I got to one, it turned out the door was locked, so I smashed the glass door in with my elbow.

Open 24-7 my a**, I thought as I walked in and felt around the cash register, hoping for a shotgun or a decent handgun. I felt something, and ran to the other side of the counter. I went to the area opposite to where I was when feeling around, and picked up a metal baseball bat.

Oh, well. Beggars can't be choosers, I thought as I walked out of the store with the bat, and walking down to a visible group of houses, hoping I'd find her. Or someone willing to help.

Down the street, I heard children crying, and a moaning woman. I wanted to ignore it so much, to think it wasn't happening, but I needed to make sure those children were safe. I ran towards the source of the noises with my bat at the ready, but not sure what would happen. That was when I first encountered one of them: a shuffling, groaning zombie, headed right towards the children. My bat was bulky, but it might still be effective. I ran towards the zombie, avoiding the pieces that fell off the houses, and struck it right in the head with my bat. The zombie rocked on it's feet, but nothing else happened. I struck again, and again, and again, until it's head caved in and the zombie fell to the floor. I looked up, and saw nobody else. The kids had run off, and I didn't blame them. Gruesome sight, seeing someone bash something human-looking's skull in.

Anyway, I headed on from where I was, looking for her. I had the feeling she was around here somewhere. I checked in each of the remains of the houses, calling out her name, and waiting to see if there was a response. A couple of times, I found more zombies, but quickly took care of them.
At the second to last house on the block I was going down, I found her. She was huddled in the corner with a small pistol.

I called out her name, and she turned around, the pistol aimed right at my head. I ducked out of the way and cried out "What, you don't remember that I was coming?"

She dropped the handgun and ran to me, sobbing on my shoulder.
"Whatever this was.... this wasn't supposed to happen!" She cried. I did my best to calm her down, and after a while, managed to do so. We sat down in the ruined kitchen and tried to recall what had happened, but we couldn't. Then we thought of a plan to get out of the town.

Our plan was to cross the city limits, try to hitchike to the next town, then catch a train headed as far away from the disaster area as possible.
But first, we had to find out what caused this.

We left the house, but realized we needed better weapons. She led me to the house of a war veteran, who she assumed was also a gun collector, and knocked on the door. We waited one minute for him to answer, then kicked the door down.

Inside, the veteran was on the ground, bleeding severely. He would be dead soon, then undead. We put him out of his misery, then took what guns he had that we could carry. We left the veteran's house, and walked unknowingly towards an abandoned factory. On the way, we ran into someone else, who was wearing army fatigues. He explained his story about how he came home to find his brother being eaten alive. He wanted more than anythying to kill the b*****d what started this mess.

We asked him to come with us, and he obliged. He had nowhere else to go, and it was dangerous to be alone at a time like this. He led us closer to the factory, explaining that he noticed it was up and running somehow, and we followed.

Surprisingly, there were few zombies around while we headed to the factory. The ones we did run into were already taken care of, though. We told stories of our pasts as we walked, what happened to us before this accident.

When we got to the factory, the military man went ahead to see if there was anyone in there. He came out shaking.

"There are two men in there, talking about 'how effectively the plan went'" He spat at the ground "The bastards. I'm sure they're the ones who did this"

We went ahead, the military man in the lead, and my friend following behind me, on my request. I wanted her to be as safe as possible.
We entered the factory, weapons at the ready, and kicked the door down.

"So, you're the ones who did this?" I said, trying hard to control my rage.
The men ignored me, and instead focused on the military man.

"So good of you to bring these two to me, we thank you" the taller of the two said.

"It was no problem," The military man smirked. "These fools believed me from the beginning. It was easy to take them straight to you" He turned his gun on me.

"Now, drop your weapons"

There was a loud bang, obviously gunfire.

His neck burst and spurted out blood. I turned behind me and saw her, holding the small pistol she had since I found her. She turned on the men.

"How could you do this?!" She screamed, her glare hot enough to melt steel.

"We were payed to do this testing by the government. To drop a sort of bomb on this city and see the effects. You two were the only ones left unharmed, except for the two of us and the little soldier boy you just shot down. But we had a serum to stop that for us." The shorter of the two said.

The taller continued:
"We wanted to know why that was, so we sent our soldier to find you two and bring you he-"

I shot the two of them down with my shotgun.
"You two talk too much." I turned to my friend and said "There's obviously nothing left to do for the town, let's get out of here."

And that's where I woke up. xD

Who it was exactly that I was looking for, I wasn't sure. I didn't know her name or specific details, but I knew two things: She was a blonde girl, and she was roughly around my age in the dream.

I was myself in the dream, just a slightly older version

Have you been keeping up with my storytime in my journal? It might be a little confusing, but it directly relates to the Choco Puffs story. There are two installments that I have written so far, and I am aiming for one a week.
