Ratatoille is the most excellent and cleanest family movie I've seen in quite a while! It's completely animation (which I sometimes prefer because I don't have to critique lame graphics) and while (of course) unrealistic it has good moral value. This is said for those of you I know who have young kids. It's a great family movie. But don't get me wrong! It's one of the most hillarious movies I've seen lately, and it doesn't lack entertainment value. My Grandmother and I both enjoyed it, so it's really for all ages. The characters are funny and well-developed for a cartoon movie. The story is told first-uh...rat point of view and interestingly portrayed. I enjoyed the absolute clumsinesses of the main human character as well. The ending is good, but completely happy, not bittersweet as I so enjoy. (It's a cartoon, after all.) I enjoyed the cracks at France as well. This makes me cruel, I guess. But I really do love the Paris setting. It really made some of the scenes. The main complaint I had was the cliche plot. The main characters have to get into a fight to add to the plot and the rat and his father have to have family problems. I found this repetitive and stupid (in comparison to most cartoon movies, I mean. Something like this happens in most of those movies.) I ultimately give it a 4 and a half out of 5 for excellent voice acting, not half bad art, good characters, cleanliness equaling good family movie, and humor.
