When I draw something, I usually start by drawing bits and pieces of the subject to act as references. A rather long, drawn-out way of working through things, but it helps me decide the composition of the piece.
On another note, I managed to redo my profile. Given the choice of old school and v2 layouts, I choose v2. Some would probably argue that old school is the way to go because of some archaic-yet-useful coding snippets but archaic things are archaic. The v2 code style does show promise in that you could potentially pull off far more than with the old style, providing you could stand to sift through the source code jungle and make sense of it all.
