Summer is coming to an end. Or so it feels like to me. I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing. Well, lets start with some updates on how my summer's been so far.
Okay, first update. July 20th. Went to Stephen Chen's birthday party. It was fun. People who went: Stephen C, Chris B, Alex O, Sam S, Vi V, Yeshar H, Kevin Zhang, Kevin Zhao, Allen Z. Kevin Zhang and Kevin Zhao didn't sleep over though. Anyways, so from 1:30 to 2-ish, we just played Super Smash Bros in the living room. And then from 2-ish to 3:30-ish, we went out to Garden Gate to play some Grounder (playground tag, with some rules). Kevin Zhang left at 3. At 3:30, we went back to Stephen's "mansion" to watch "The Man." It was a pretty funny movie. After "The Man," Vi arrived and we just played some more Super Smash. Then we ate dinner (pizza, what do you know). Kevin Zhao left afterwards. Then, went outside and Chris B. showed us how he launches 2 liter soda bottles. It was interesting.
Fast-forwarding! Went back in, went back outside to play night tag, came back, watched "Smoking Aces" (horrible movie), went to bed later. Crazy night. Woke up around 7:30. Played some games, watched youtube, BB wars, sliding down stairs, go home. The end! It was fun. biggrin Ask me for more details if you really want to know.
Anyways, after the party, another boring day. second update... July 22nd. Dad's birthday. Usual occurrence in the morning. exciting stuff happened at night. Went to eat at Chili's. Yum. blaugh After dinner, gave him his present (25 dollars Barnes and Nobles card). He gave it back to me... Said that he could buy books at a better deal on Amazon, but he kept the written card I made him. Anyways, i returned the 25 dollar card to my mom for the 25 dollars back. Then, bought the whole family theater snacks, when we went to the 9:35 showing of Hairspray. 10 bucks out of the 25 left.
Hairspray was a pretty good movie. Lots of singing, but there was some humor too. John Travolta was hilarious. xd : Nice change from the usual movies that I watch (action, non-singing comedies etc.)
That's the two updates. Now, there are some other problems and stuff the I feel like talking about, so don't comment just yet! So let's see. fyi, this happened awhile ago.
That new desktop computer I was talking about! It got taken away by my dad... xp Basically, one day, I come home from the gym and find my dad using the new desktop. So I just go read a book. Later, my dad calls me to come over, and I walk over. Seems that the mouse and keyboard won't work. My dad takes the desktop to his room, hooks it up to his monitor (which is already hooked up with ten bazillion computers). It seems that the desktop has some sort of virus (not a fatal one). This virus locks the keyboard and mouse so that you can't use them. So he basically re-installs everything.
Why I don't get to use the new desktop again? Well, I saw my dad sending an email to Gateway techsupport, so there might still be a problem. Also, on this old desktop, my dad saw me playing Trickster online, and since I use to play on Trickster on the new computer as well, he said that I shouldn't get to use the new desktop if all I'm going to do is play games. So there you have it. I have to use this old crappy, good for nothing, piece of junk, sorry-excuse for a computer. I've been using it for at least 4 or 5 years... Intense lag is back... -___-
Solution to this dilemma: Buy a new desktop, or even possibly a notebook. (quick tangent: before my Chinese school ended, I use to have a job tutoring this one kid. I got 10 bucks an hour, and i did this once a week, with one kid. Now, when Chinese school starts again, I might do the same thing again. The reason I got this job is so that I can review my old Chinese, since I didn't study well back then. So, that's 10 bucks an hour, about $550 a year. Not bad right? Well, I can't wait a year to earn just enough to buy a new desktop, or notebook. So now, I'm even more busy. I have to start reviewing Chinese, so that I can prove that I'm good enough to continue being a tutor, and good enough to tutor more than one kid. Remember, I can't just ask for a new kid to tutor. This job was given to me to improve and review my old words. ) So there's a solution. Now, I can also do yardwork. There was this big tree in my backyard that was cut down about a year or so ago. The people who cut the tree came back asking to clean up the cut down tree for 100 bucks. Now, I heard this from my mom, so I offered to do the job for 50 bucks. She agreed. So now, I have to start saving up money. Here's the thing. My dad is going back to China around the time when my school starts... (It's not going to be as fun at home anymore. T.T) I'm taking a guess that when he goes, he might let me use the new desktop again. Just a guess. But at the meantime, it's time for me to save up lots of money. And seriously, WHY AM I BORED? I have so much to do.
Yet another update. Problems with band and water polo. (another quick tangent: Found a nice trumpet on eBay. Planning to buy it. biggrin ) Water Polo and marching band clash. So does the practice that happens a week or so before school. Gotta find a solution, and a way to contact either water polo director or the new band director... More problems to solve... Yay....
There it is. Long. First two updates that I say may make no sense since I wasn't really thinking when I wrote it. Sorry... although, this whole journal entry might not make any sense to any of you guys who are reading this, so just ask or comment on something you are confused about and I'll reply soon enough.
