Chapter 1.5
The Bridge of Fourlorn was as XIII had said. Blood coated the chasms walls. The sun beat down with a sinister bout of vernally radiation. For I did not wish the sun to be as bright as it made my blood boil or perhaps that was my nerves. Either to which it was uncomfortable. We approached the bridge with the guile of men of milk. Swishing and swashing as the latter suggests. No bird was as of yet to be seen, but it was keep in our minds by the guide, XIII. For he chirped and burped and slurped as we approached. I began to dream that he made the fantastical beast up for it would be a fun trick to play for sure!
I was sadly mistaken though. Put back into place when a chirp came into mine and Kenny’s ears. This chirp was quite disturbing. Of sheer horror and abyss my heart felt breaking my spirit in a moments notice. The bird saw us and I froze.
It was by some great luck Kenny pulled ahead. The beast and him started to fight. Kenny brought his ninja sword up to block on many occasions. The beast in turn swooped and fought with his razor beak. While the fighting was occurring, one of the handrails on the bridge snapped. For no one in many a year had had the gull to challenge the chirping nightmare. The bride started to move and the planks offered no help to stay on. I turned to look back at XIII, but he was gone. I thought perhaps he had fallen. We were doomed.
