I went to the wedding of my friends Tony and Lexy this afternoon at 4:00 pm. I was unsure if I'd be able to go at all but luckily my mom was able to baby sit long enough for me to at least go to the ceremony.

Lexy wore a strapless gown that was gorgeous!!! It was two complimentary shades of purple. Purple is her favorite color and one of mine. There was some fabulous beading around on the trim. It reminded me of a stary sky at twilight. Her bride's maids wore sage green strapless gowns. They all looked wonderful but I only knew Tony's sister, Kris. Her hair is naturally small, tight curls but she had straighted it for this and the effect was dazzling.

Tony wore a nicely tailored tux. He cleans up really nice and looked extremely handsome. I knew his best man, Dave, Tony's best friend. He was in his military uniform as was one of the other groomsmen. I can't remember that guy's name and its gonna bug the crap outta' me. The other groom's man was Adam, another one of our friends from high school. At one point I heard Dave ask Tony where his cell phone was. Tony looked at him funny and said it was in his bag. Dave laughed and said "Good thats where it should be, mine rang during my ceremony." They laughed and you could just tell by the comradery they shared what great friends they truely are.

They held the ceremony in Tony's parent's backyard which was perfect. They have a neat wooden overhang thingy they hung ivy on. There weren't many people there, maybe thirty at most, but at least they were the people who really counted to Tony and Lexy. Tony's uncle officiated over the ceremony which I thought was cool. The song they played as Lexy walked down the isle was pretty but I can't remember what it is called.

The whole ceremony was short, sweet, and to the point. It took maybe fifteen minutes total. Dave pretended her couldn't find the ring in his breast pocket. It was pretty funny 'cause Tony said "I saw him put it in there!" The officiant asked them to exchange rings and Lexy got a bit flustered and couldn't remember which hand she needed but it was kind of cute and Tony came to her rescue which was very romantic. After the officiate had Tony say his vows and he said "I do" the officiant asked "Do you love Lexy?" and he said "I do" again. I nearly lost it! They did the same with Lexy. She answered "With everything I have." Tony looked at her and then she said, "I do." *Insert tears here* It was so sweet! I wish I had thought to bring a tissue.

After the ceremony they stood in a receiving line that led guests out of the backyard through the gate in the fence. I don't think many people noticed but as we got up to leave and go through the receiving line they were playing "I want to grow old with you" (or something to that effect) by Weird Al (one of their favorite singers!)

The guests headed over to the reception which was held at a place up near the capital on High street called The Gallery. It was really classy. I was the first one there but I drove a bit faster than normal (not speeding, too much) just to get off the road 'cause my plates have been expired since February, lol.
Over the next half an hour people slowly trickled in and filled the room. They had two chocolate fountains. One had regular chocolate and the other had white chocolate but the white chocolate one wasn't getting hot enough to melt the chocolate properly and it wasn't working quite right. So one of the workers made the joke that they had one fountain and one spittle. It was kind of funny. I thought they both looked fine, lol.

They also had two different sets of personalized m & ms. In favor thingys on the tables there were green and purple ones. Also on the table were note cards that gave the date and names and stuff. On the front of those was a butterfly. If you pull it off and plant it flowers will grow. How cool! On each table was a pretty topiary that Lexy made with bamboo, vines, and purple flowers. The other set of m & ms were up at the head table. They were green, purple, and grey. They also had "Tony" and "Lexy" printed on them instead of an m!

I wish I would have been able to see them before I had to leave the reception but my mom could only watch the kiddos till 5:30, grr... Oh well, at least I got to go to the ceremony. I also got to apologize to Dave and Tony for being accidentally rude on Tony's blog. I am glad they were still happy to see me. I think it meant a lot to Tony and Lexy that I came. I've known them both for a long time. Tony and I went to high school together and Lexy went to high school with my best friend Suzanne. I've always enjoyed their company and appriciate them putting up with me and the fact that I tend to make an idiot of myself without meaning to.

Congradulations to Tony and Lexy Thompson! ^_^
