Some see me as a myth; a fabled creature never meant to be. A monster who haunts the people way back into the most ancient histories. To some, our species never existed. To others we thrived as heartless murderers. . . Our species was none of these things. . . Unfortunately ignorance of humans is what brought our species to the brink of extinction. . .
Our species never really had an official name, we were just called wolves. Quite unlike any ordinary wolf, our race had the power to willingly change into a human at any given time or place. Humans instantly assumed that we would use our power to harm them. . . That was when folklore played a role between life and death.
Many Tales were told. Each filling the oblivious mind to insinuating horrors. In these stories we meet the stereotypical wolf... A horrid, gruesome creature with twisted way of thinking. A creature who looms in the woods and lures in humans with a familiar face. This creature is always killed by a ‘brave’ human being... This human is strong and fights the beast in a daring battle with lots of bloodshed. The human of course wins and returns with pelts of ‘murders’ back to their village... The ‘hero’ is adored and their stories get passed down and then even spread to other villages.
Wolf killings grew as a popular topic to the people of this time. . . What was at first a mere ignorance and a lie grew into what millions believed as the truth. . . The more stories that were told ,the more in which believed... The more in which hated, the more in which killed... At this time, our clan has had a major loss in it’s inhabitancy...
With very few wolves left remaining, we grew more and more desperate for survival. Sadly, we did exactly what humans have been saying for years. We began to eliminate any human who came anywhere near innocent wolf packs.
Reverting to violence got us nowhere. . . The humans ended up whipping out our entire species. . . All except for me. I am the last of an endangered species. . .
To this day I devoted the rest of my life into finding other wolves. I have had no luck so far, but I will continue till the day I die.
