On My Mind
You fall down a dark abyss that springs up from your toe and you end up here!
Day 1: Part 2: Vacation within Vacation
I could feel the distant rumbling of the engine while I slept, but didn't wake up until I heard Josie yell out in protest. Jerking awake, I immediately asked for the problem, and she replied in a solemn and deadly voice, "We're going to.... that hotel!" She pointed a shaking finger at the sign of the hotel ahead of us. We were about to pull in.
I looked around and I didn't see the cause for her alarm. "What about the hotel?" I asked, clearly very puzzled.
She grabbed me by the shoulders and looked at me directly in the eyes. She took a deep breath and spat out, "It's... It's... three star!" She then broke down in front of me. I hugged her and patted her on the back, thinking 'This wasn't that bad, was it?' I spent the next 30 seconds thinking about my previous dealings with 3-star hotels in Vietnam and shuddered. This definitely wasn't going to be good.
As the bus pulled to a stop, I stood up slowly and warily walked in. "What are we doing here...?" I asked my dad. From that source of information, I learned that this is where we were eating breakfast. I sighed, relieved that we weren't sleeping here as I had thought.
I made my way up to the buffet and stopped in my tracks. The wafting smell of Hue food rushed towards me and I ran to the nearest table and dropped my stuff hurriedly. I was the first to make it to the food. After carefully sniffing all the food I put on my plate, I came back with two plates and a bowl of noodles.
Josie was sitting in the seat next to my stuff, not having even made her way to the food yet, and was eating a can of chips.
My dad, incredulous, said, "You're sitting in a buffet... and you bring your own food?!" He shook his head in wonderment, having been the second one back from the food.
We ate in haste, wary of an attack that may come from my dad's girlfriend (attack meaning sleep, in this sense). We ate in silence (I'm totally kidding), glancing at each other. I glared down my dad, who was sitting on the other side of me, protective of my food.
After I was full, stacked plates sitting in front of me, I leaned back and watched my dad's girlfriend's sister play her PSP. She was playing a racing game, so I gave it a try and lost beautifully.
Happy about my failure, I left the buffet and rushed back to the bus, ready to rush off to the next adventure to befall us. After everyone filed back on, the tour guide told us that we were going to a marble mountain. I was sure that this was the marble mountain that I've been to for about six times already, and I didn't want to visit it again. Last time I was there, I made it to the top, and the gate that was closed last time with the sign that read "Danger: Go at your own risk" was now open. The mountain guide led us back that way, but I didn't trust him. I got a hand from Harry, one of the people on the trip... anyways, back to this trip. I didn't feel like excitedly exploring the dark caves that I've treaded on multiple times before, or climbing the tiresome and hard to tread stairs that led to the top. So... I decided to head back to our hotel and take a nice nap!
I had to share a bed with Josie's father and his girlfriend (it was awkward and cold), but I slept well.
After getting a rude awakening by Josie, by storming into the room, I packed my stuff and left the room forever! I made my way to the room next door and one floor above. Dropping down my stuff, I got into my bed for another nice, long nap.

Although this update wasn't quite as interesting, stay tuned for Night 1: Part 1: Vacation within Vacation!
