The Tailor Shop In Enbizaka

Let's start working.

In the corner of Enbizaka lived a tailoress
Known to others as a woman of virtue and skill

Her only worry was the infidelity of her beloved
“He doesn't come home despite having a woman like me”

But I must persist in my work, with my scissors in hand
The sharper the scissors that I had received from my mother were, the better they cut

That day, the town was peaceful as any other day
I saw him on the main street, but who was the woman with him?

Well-suited in her red kimono, he seemed to know that beautiful woman very well
It was an unbearable sight for me, so I left

But I must persist in my work, with my scissors in hand
Even as tears stream down my face, I must repair the kimono

The town had an anxious air about it; something had happened

He was seen before the bridge, but who was the woman with him?

A pretty girl had nestled against him in his sorrowful state
The green obi suits her perfectly; he must like that sort of woman

But I must persist in my work, with my scissors in hand
Even if my eyes are bloodshot, I must repair the obi Even

The town was in a sudden uproar; it has happened again
He was seen in a hairpin store, but who was the woman with him?

He bought yellow hairpins as a gift to a very young girl
What on earth is he doing? I really have no choice now

But I must persist in my work, with my scissors in hand
Isn't the scissors colored like this too? I must work on that day too

At last, I have finished my work
If you will not come and meet me
Then I will go to you

Scissors have two blades.
For scissors to work, both blades need to rub past each other in synchronized movements.
In that same way does a married couple work.
This I learned from my mother.

The red kimono, the green obi
The yellow hairpins are in my hair
I've become the woman you desired
Well? Aren't I pretty?

Now the whole town was in a racket; a man had been killed
It seems that a family of four had also been killled

He was a terrible person; how could he still say “nice to meet you” and “hello”
I wasn'ta stranger; I wasn'ta stranger at all
Today the neighbourhood is chaotic

But I must persist in my work, with my scissors in hand
The sharper the scissors that I had stained in red were, the better they cut
