As an orphan child Nekoaikouka had no friends to speak of other than his trusty cat
companions. They followed him everywhere and kept him safe from harm.
Strangely though when anyone else would come around Neko they acted as if they
saw no cats at all, as if Neko were the only one able to see these little friends of his.
Feeling as if something were changing Neko noticed in the sky that something was
very wrong with the moon. It.. it was cracking open!! and something was soaring
down at him at an enormous speed, on a crash course with Neko's face! What could
he do? He was frozen stiff! Soon it'd all be over, and he wouldn't even know what
had finished him off! Could this be the hunger going to his brain? SMASH!!! Wait!
What? Where did it go, and how did he just transform like this? He was now
protected with armor, a radiating dragon flowed around him effortlessly, a large
tiger hybrid cat laid wrapped around his leg and a stretched out feline was wrapped
around his neck extended at all angles ready at the attack! He felt so alive!! so
tireless! Neko had never felt like this before! Not since.. since before his parents
had died. He still didn't understand how he had survived the horrible car wreck.
That was the night he met his feline friends, his cats!! Oh no!! Where were they?! He
jerked his head around looking in every direction, but there were no sight of them.
Had the blast finished off his only friends? "Oh no.. what have I done? How could I
have been so careless!" He thought as he fell to his knees sobbing. They were his
only friends and he just let them go. "Stop you're sniveling boy! We're fine!" rang
out a bold voice from above. "Wha..? who's there? What game is this?" Cried Neko
as he wiped away his tears. "Its me Chester, as you so childishly named me."
croaked a black cat as he hopped down from the fence above. "Franky, LuLu and
Oscar are all fine too, you worry too much boy! Look! Here they are." All of them
jumping down as he named each one. First was Franky an orange cat rubbing
against Neko as he landed. Second, LuLu landing atop his head yawning as she
always did, and lastly Oscar presenting himself beside Chester. They were clearly
the more.. "mature" of the four. "Wha.. What? I don't understand.. Chester you can
talk?! bu.. but why haven't you before I mean I was so lonely and bored and I had
no one to talk to I just sat there and petted you and rambled on and on and you
never even talked and where did you go just now and and and..." Continuously
rambling he heard nothing of what the cat said. "Of course I wouldn't talk to
someone who named me Chester of all names couldn't you have chosen a more
suitable one for someone of MY stature?" he said with most utter self loving. "How
could he be lonely with me here!? I'm the most home warming person.. er.. cat to
be with!!" exclaimed Franky quit sadly. "Oh bother someone else with that rubbish
I'm obviously the one he loves! he never said anything about the rest of you!"
ranted Chester. "Most likely because.." taking a moment to yawn. "he hasn't heard
the rest of us speak Chester" At that LuLu drifted off into a lovely dream about
catnip and warm milk, sadly she was allergic to both. "Well maybe we should speak
up or else he shall rant on until he talks himself to sleep" said Oscar quite stiffly as
his longest and most favored claw was extended from his paw. "Lets see if he
notices... THIS!" Shooting up into the air Neko clasped his hands upon his bottom
gingerly. "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! What did you do that for Oscar?!"Sliding back
into his paw it shined beautifully red. "Sorry young one but if I hadn't of you would
have never shut that mouth of yours." At saying this he looked rather happy for
someone who was upset about anything. In fact Oscar rather liked using his claw,
because it was usually a rare occasion on which he did. "WHHHHHAAAAAAA?!?!?!
You can talk too?!?!" Screamed Neko as he jumped back, even more shocked than
before. "We all can dude!" said Franky from below looking up at Neko as cool as he
possibly could."Yeas.." said LuLu yawning again. "..dude." Falling on his rear Neko
couldn't do anything but exclaim at all of this."OH MY GOD!! Wha?! why!?!?
HOW?!?!" sighing and starting to grow very tired of this Oscar explained. "Listen
here. Listen here boy!! Now calm down, really. We are your Guardians Neko. Your
Soul Protectors, we are the ones who saved you from the accident with that
contraption that took your parents lives, we were the only reason you survived. Its
good that we did because at the time we didn't realize how important you are. You
are a.. Soul Reaver Neko." Looking rather taken aback he could only think of one
thing to say to this. " A Soul Reaver? What in the world is that?! I've never heard of
a Soul.. Reaver. They must not be very important to be orphans like me I mean
come o.." Pricking Neko again Oscar continued with his story. "I wasn't finished
Neko!!!" Sighing and waking from a dream of a pool full of tuna, which she was also
sadly allergic to. "Neko a Soul Reaver is a.." yawning rather loudly. "human
entrusted with safety of all living beings namely animals since that is who he..
"yawning and drifting off to sleep for a few seconds."is she really that tired?" Neko
asked as he looked down at Franky."Well no not really she just likes her dreams, its
really the only time she can eat anything she really wants to." He laughed alittle as
he said it. "The only thing she can eat is Turnips and ra.." Scolding him LuLu
blasted. "Thats not fu.." yawning slightly this time. "..nny!! and no cat should ever
have to eat rats!!" Confused Neko exclaimed. "Don't cats eat rats? I mean every
cat I've ever seen has." Looking scarred Chester bellowed."We are no normal cats
Neko! Spirit beings do not eat rats! no matter how hungry they are!!"feeling rather
upset he apologized " I'm sorry everyone I didn't know.. wait you mean all spirits
beings are cats?" Feeling rather joyful to be talking again Oscar rambled. " No not
all are cats but they are most certainly not humans. What did you think? That they
were all cloud garmented beings with lightening bolts shooting from their finger tips,
thick white beards and offspring who walked on water? Of course not!" very
alarmed at this Neko was in shock. "Wha!?!? you mean that we are protected by..
by a bunch of an.." scratching Neko's ankle Franky whispered. "Shhh.. Don't say it
man! You'll make them really angry!" Yawning loud enough so the older two didn't
hear him LuLu continued with her story. "Since that is who a Soul Reaver derives
his powers from they usually.. " yawning with droopy eyes. "take on the form of
some kind of animal, and uses the powers of other spirit beings to help him fight."
Yawning again she fell back to sleep now leaving time for Chester to talk. "Shes
right boy, you are a Soul Reaver and have the potential to be a mighty good one at
that. Sadly your powers are the reason your family is dead." Gasping tears forming
in his eyes Neko exploded. "WHAT!? you're saying the reason they're dead is... is
because of me?! bu... but how? I mean why?! what did I do?!" Understanding what
he had just said Chester explained himself. "Neko you must calm down! You didn't
do anything! Its what someone wanted done to you did to them. Do you understand
boy? You didn't kill them but you are the reason they are dead because
Nemymorphus wanted you dead." Seeing what effect this was having on Neko,
Oscar decided it was time chester was quite. "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! Darn you
Oscar!!! You and that p***k of yours!!" screamed Chester as he hopped around
holding his tail."You can't go blaming the boy for something he had no idea about
Chester! Look Neko it wasn't your fault, it is Morphus' fault your parents are dead.
He discovered a Soul Reaver was left alive and he knew that the prophecy was
finally coming true, because it fortells that a Tyrant of unimaginable powers would
one day rain down and smite all of the Soul Reavers leaving way for his Rule of the
spirit world to come true, but that when that happened a reincarnation would be
born with the power of all seven thousand soul reavers powers within him and he
would be the one to bring down this Tyrant and the earth would be saved. For
haven't you noticed everything changing lately Neko? The Shadows are different
than they used to be, animals are acting a lot differently too, even smaller things of
great importance are happening right up under your nose. You are the One to
bring down Nemymorphus and bring peace to both the earthly world and the spirit
realm. You are the last Soul Reaver!!" Looking rather confused Neko pondered this.
" Can you explain that to me again? I don't think I quite got that." Looking shocked
and terrified Chester and Oscar Studdered. "WHa.. WHATTTTTTT!!!!?!?! You don't
understand?!?!?! We just sat here and explained to you everything that you were
the last Soul Reaver and were destined to defeat Nemymorphus or the world would
come to an end and you don't understand that?" Gasping for breath at the end.
"Well no not really, I'm still trying to grasp the idea of talking cats.." he said rather
coolly. "Dude you're a super hero just take it and fly man." Said Franky as
awesome as possible. "Well If that is true then I will put down this Tyrant and save
everyone, but first I gotta eat I'm sooo hungry." "WHAAAAAAAAAA?!?!?! you're
talking about eating at a time like this?! Morphus has already sent down one of his
Moon Callers, if we hadn't of awakened your powers you'd be dead!!" Gasped Oscar
and Chester blankly. "Okie okie World safety first food later.." he said with a
growling stomach. "but wait what am I supposed to do? I mean how am I going to
defeat this guy?" Looking rather happy to talk again Oscar said the only thing he
had on his mind. "First you must train, and I know just the person... er... animal for
the job!" Awakening LuLu grumbled. "oh no not.." yawn. "her." "Yeas her..
Tenpitentousama, the Sun Keeper!" said Oscar with a glint in his eye. Looking at
Franky neko asked. "Who's Tenpi whats her name?" Smiling rather oddly he
answered. "Oh she's the one he's crazy after. You'll see when the sun rises
tomorrow."
