The Girl Who Fakes a Smile
Her world once was filled with joy, When she never had any fears. Now, though, these toys are replaced with knives, hopskotch replaced with tears.
When her grandmother was dying, Her body was in a change. She would be more angry, All of this was strange.
It wasn't her fault that she was so thin. But kids at school made her hurt. She only lived for her grandmother. But she wanted to hear three words. Not; "you are anorexic" Not: "Get away, now shoo!" The only words were for a boy And that was: I love you.
She only wanted to be seen again, As who she really was. So she started telling lies, Saying who not she was.
When she moved away, Her grandmother was gone. But she fessed up her anger, She had to move on.
Walk into the building, And try to look around. But then she spotted who she was looking for, Her true love she had found.
But, she wasn't good enough, All the other girls were beautiful. She was flat all the way, While they were completely full.
But, still he came up to her, And talked to her for a while. It was the first time she had felt love, For once she had smiled.
So everyday she got better, He was the remedy she needed, The fire that kept her warm, The blood she always bleeded.
So, here she is now, Like a bird, she's finally free. The only thing left to say is; That girl was really me.
