You are probably wondering to yourself what exactly is great about the word Grim right? I mean I always put the word Grim in everyone of my screen names, and I also keep typing Grim in as a proper noun. Well the truth is the word is just a word. But I like to think I live under the name Grim. You might be thinking about the Grim Reaper when I say it, well you probably should be because that is where I got the word from.
adjective, grimĀ·mer, grimĀ·mest.
1. stern and admitting of no appeasement or compromise: grim determination; grim necessity.
2. of a sinister or ghastly character; repellent: a grim joke.
3. having a harsh, surly, forbidding, or morbid air: a grim man but a just one; a grim countenance.
4. fierce, savage, or cruel: War is a grim business.
Generally the way that I take it is; Grim is when a situation looks it's worst, with no hope of improvement. And in those Grim situations that our true colors show. People must do what they can even with situation in it's current state. When the situation becomes Grim, I like to take it with a wicked grin. I think it would be fun to find out what crazy stuff would happen. If in those situations you die, it's all the more Grim. I almost want the chance to be severely impaled just so i can look up with an enthusiastic smirk as I choke on my own blood.
That probably didn't really answer the damn question, but you can probably tell by now, Grim is my favorite word in the English dictionary.
