The crazy life of an Ice cream scooper!
Today my kiddies I would like to tell you about some of the quirky things that I see while I'm working. I work at a Baskin Robbins, its fast food I guess, but then again its not. So many people that come can be so wierd. Lets begin the maddness that is ice cream eaters! First I'll start with a couple that come in about twice a week. These two are probally about 45 or older, they get the same flipping thing every time, and even though its the same thing, and even though I have helped them about 100 times they still feel the need to retell me about three times that her coffe drink is decafe and that he would like a medium soft serve. These people are pretty well off, they always come in driving thier bmw, or the gigantic camper they own. They often grace our little store in a nice dress and tux, but these two never and I mean never tip, and are always quite rude. Its wierd. Oh and then there is this woman, we call her peppermint lady, but she calls her self pepperment girl. This woman is quite over wieght, I mean I'm not perfect but some people are just really not fit. This lady comes in and talks our ears off about all her health problems, about her heart attacks which seem to happen monthly, she tells us all about how she is not to eat anything that is bad for her and such. And after all the talk she gets a half gallon of pepperment candy ice cream, now once in a while would not worry me much, but this lady comes in and gets that every other day. NO LIE. And on many of the off days she comes in and has something else, like a double cone or a sundae. She is just plain crazy. Then there are just the quirky things people do, like opening thier straws. I think the average person usually taps the straw while holding it in a fist and slids the wrapper off, right? Well I have to hold in the laughter while I watch so many people try the tear the tip of the wrapper, which is plastic and they end up getting a little frustrated until they finally get it off. Oh I really am starting to hate my job and dealing with people. Every night at about 9.50 we begin getting calls with people saying 'what time do you close' and we are always like '10 pm' and they then proceed to say 'ok well be right in' like they can make it. ok ok I guess I'm done ranting about silly people, maybe I'll add more another day, have fun my kiddies and cya later! ~Mary
