Fall mornings were usually cool, but this morning had an especially cool touch to it. She was leaving all of the friends she knew, for a new world yet to be explored by her 17 year old mind.
"Colorado, you better be ******** awesome. I'll be pissed if you aren't," she thought to herself taking the last of her things from the car inside and up to her room. As she walked back out to the car to lock it, she noticed a small boy looking directly at her. His smile was innocent, and his hands he held behind his back in a shy, yet somewhat confident matter. His wild black hair added to the look of curiosity in his big green eyes.
The girl smiled weakly, and locked the car. When she looked back, the boy had moved onto her lawn, and was about five feet away from her. His composure hadn't changed at all.
"Uhh..." She began. She wasn't sure what exactly to say.
"My name is Chris, and I like noodles, they're really good!" The boy said confidently.
"I'm going to call you Noodle then." The girl said smiling. What is up with this kid? she thought to herself.
"Oh, well then you can be Moose!" Noodle said laughing.
The girl looked surprised, but she laughed and became lost in this mysterious kid and his massive green eyes that were slightly hidden by the black hair that flowed partially into his face.
" Alright then, Noodle. Do you want to come inside? I have to leave for school soon, but you're welcome to join me for some Milk and Poptarts for breakfast. I don't have much else to eat though."
Noodle looked down and cupped his hand over his mouth and pondered the thought for a moment.
"Do you have the Ice Cream Sunday Poptarts?" He asked curiously.
"Just strawberry, sorry." She answered running her hand through her long blonde hair.
"Hmm... No thanks then. I only like those kind. But I have to go to school now, see ya Moose!" The boy ran across the lawn, then the street and across his own lawn and disappeared behind the front door of his own house.
What a weird little kid. He's kind of cute though, I could just pick him up and give him a hug! She thought to herself. Well it's definitely not the way I expected to meet my first friend here...but I like him.
Authors note
I know, it's really rough and not very descriptive, but I only wanted to give a small outline as to how Moose and Noodle meet.
I'm writing this series just as a way to creatively talk about a few things that go on in my life. Writing is just a nice way to get it out, and write a happy ending that would fit the way I would want things in my own life to end.
As I said earlier, I don't include much detail because I like to leave a lot of things to the mind of the reader. I find filling in the blanks yourself makes for more fun than having the author tell you how things are down to the blades of grass on each lawn.
Any comments and criticism are welcomed!
