Many private and a few public schools closed down today.

Why?

Because there was a threat of "Freezing Rain" and it got down to .. zOMG.. 32 degrees.

To me, this is silly.. Of course I'm not a native of Louisiana (THANK THE GODS) so I bet that no humidity and threat of freezing rain would seem out of place and dangerous in this sub tropic climate.

It is, however, worth noting that people drive like there is freezing rain all the time. The alcoholism in this state is rampant. Single teen mothers grow in numbers due to the alcoholism and there is no value placed on education. Everybody would rather Mardi Gras instead of learn ... or play sports... which we all know that if you play football in high school you are going to become a pro. */sarcasm*

Oh well...

I can't change it. I can only do for those who are willing and wanting to move forward from the darkness into the light. wink
