ok so maybe I'm going too far with this, but i think its worth it.
"i am your shield, i am your sword"
in the bible, "i am your Shield" is a message given to Abraham by God.
"I am you sword" is not found, but "I am the Word" is found in many places. and any one who know the bible knows that God's Sword is his word... in fact i remember hearing that in psalms or something.
know, one of the famous people in the bible who traveled through the dessert was moses. Moses was send by god to find the prophets and tell them his word, he had a stick not a sword, but the word of God was the sword.
Every one that God entrusts with his word, is trying to make his way to the Holy city. this might be the journey of the master chief, up the coast of Africa, from the New Mombas, though Egypt, and them to the Holy City, where it is believed that the ARK of the COVENANT is being held. what the Covenant prophets are looking for.
so here comes the master chief -- wasn't his name John.... like John from The book of Revelation, the last book in the bible -- trying to stop the prophets.
will they find the ARK? it won't be nice... remember the Indiana Jones movie about the Lost Ark. yeah that was not a pretty picture was it.

Abraham from Genesis and John from Revelation, first and last book of the bible, alpha and omega. also bungie loves the number seven, like the Seven tribes that where promised to abraham and the last Seven Plagues in Revelations promised by John. I need to watch it a few more times but does anyone think when MC is getting up and the girl says time to go.The marine then says I think we lost him.Then MC says not yet.The first few times I watched this I kept thinking maybe he was talking to the marine or in general about what the marine said but what if hes referring to what the girl said? I mean she said time to go then he said not yet...I mean its a bit out there but then again its something to look at..If thats the case I wonder what they could be talking about?
.... I wonder...if that girl is Kelly, then you may remember that Dr. Hasley "kid-napped" her. If somehow Kelly was killed... what if John 117 was close (and I mean very close) to death... what if, by "Time to go" meant something like leaving his life, or dying. and what if John 117 was to proud, to angry to fall to the covenant... and by "not yet" he might have meant "I'm not dieing just yet!"... but this is if he was talking to the girl in the flashback as WOLF cleverly stated...
