This is more a rant than a political thing, I don't do politics a whole lot, but enough is enough. I fear for those homosexuals that are married/will be married, and those that want to be, and won't be able to because of Bush and his goddamn supporters. I heard that he got a letter from some group of religious fanatics (who ironically enough support him), saying, in effect, "We won't support your social security (not sure that was it but whatever) idea if you don't support the gay marriage constitutional amendment."
And that ******** pissed me off.
Pardon the language, but that's just too far. Gay marriage is a right to the people. Civil union is basically the same, they say. BASICALLY the same. When you get down deeper, though, even just a LITTLE deeper into it, marriage and civil union are very much different. I don't want to say a whole lot about that, because I dont know much about the differences other than the way they're called. But basically the same is not exactly the same; if two people want to be married instead of bound by civil union, they should sure as hell be able to be married.
Another thing: This may be a very personal opinion, but marriage is also a form of expression. If two people want to have sex all over in public places to express their love, go right ahead. (Just know who's around and that you might be arrested when you do.) If two people want to hold hands everywhere they go and sleep in the same bed, go right ahead. If two people want to get married and live together, go right ahead. Who's gonna stop you? Apparently those conservatives looking for control.
And yes, I am a liberal.
I really don't want to have to see my children growing up in a world where certain marriages are illegal. That's not a good thing to do to people. Discrimination? ******** hell yes. It's taking away a personal right (in my humble opinion) to express your love. Yes, the line is drawn when it truly harms someone else, but who the hell is it harming? Keep aside those sheltered children who have been raised on straight marriage and know nothing else. There's probably 3 in the country anyway.
Gay marriage shouldn't be such a national issue. If some states want to outlaw it, fine. I'm not so against outlawing it in some places. I mean, you can just go somewhere else. But a constitutional amendment? Eh? What's that? You're going to edit this document that's over 200 years old so that gay people can't marry each other? How logical. How very logical. *Coughcontrolfreakscough.*
A major bashfest in this entry no one will see, and I know hardly anything about this. However, that is just how strongly I feel about it. (Or just how stupid I really am.) Gay people should be able to be married. And you religious purists "ADAM AND EVE NOT ADAM AND STEVE". I say: Adam and Steve are in love. Ada and Eve are also in love. So get the ******** over it and go screw your wives and husbands until they scream their gay lover's name at you. Because you know they're there. Stop bitching about it and go find something else to control, like your kids. Did I mention they're illegitimate to you?
Yeah, I'm really angry about this. Angry enough that I want to institute a wonderful march somewhere (probably Chicago, but I really would like it to be in Washington). If anyone else is willing to support me in that, send me a PM, or contact me on any one of my messengers. Or e-mail me. Or check out my LiveJournal and leave a comment on there. Or my DiaryLand. Or my Xanga. Yeah. I mean ******** business with this.
My account will probably be deleted after this post is found, but that's a small price to pay for my gay friends to be able to marry their fiances and lovers. So, anyone want a few items?
