Wraith's story
This journal will follow Wraith the Undying in his travels among the realms. Enjoy.
The tournament ends. (The start of the story)
Wraith stood before a pedestal, a dark orb floating on it. Finally, he had all he needed to destroy it: The Damascus armor, from which all his power would flow. The Lunar Cloak, to protect him from the feedback of energy that could destroy him. The Gemini Mask, to translate the inscription on the orb. And finally, the Demon's Pitchfork, to focus his power into a single beam. He had fought many enemies to obtain these, had killed thousands to keep them, and thousands more to reach this place. He would finally have what he deserved. He raised the weapon above his head, and the points glowed red, as did his armor. "Tanus divan vik'ku Talschou!" He aimed the points toward the orb, and a needle thin beam pierced it, shattering it as if it were glass. What it held wasn't quite what Wraith expected. It was a book, black as midnight, and around it swirled an energy that put Wraith's power to shame. He reached out, took the book, and opened it, reading aloud. "Varakus din shalor. Nal tenas krou, vinashu" ((roughly translated: Varakus the Dargon. I command thee, rise!)) A dark mist poured from the tome, swirling like a cyclone around him. But he stayed, unmoved by it's force. Moments later, a dark beast leered down at him, its red eyes locked on Wraith's. "WHY HAVE YOU SUMMOND ME!" The dragon's voice boomed, and this time, Wraith did moved, pushed back by the voice of the beast. "I have come for my reward. I have won this... tournament. And you will grant me my wish." The dragon looked affended, but was unable to refuse the man his wish. "SPEAK!" Wraith's wish was a simple one, but perhaps not a well thought out one. "I wish to be a king. Not of a country, or even a whole contenent, but of the whole world." This made the dragon smile. In a flash of white light, Wraith sat on his thrown, bodies laying before him, all dead. "Where are my servants? Where are my subjects, my followers?" "THEY LIE BEFORE YOU, KING!" Wraith glared at the dragon. "You've tricked me. This is not what I asked for." Varakus looked back at the wretched man. "YOU SAID YOU WANTED TO BE KING OF THE WORLD. BUT YOU KILLED EVERYONE TO ACHIEVE THAT. YOU ARE THE ONLY ONE LEFT ALIVE. CONGRATULATIONS, KING OF CORPSES!" Then the dragon dissapeared. The only thing that could be heard over his laughes was Wraith's cry of dispair.
