Totro learned his first hex:
River Bind Hex 01: A square enscribed in the circle, it binds things to the floor of the river for a short while (as long as they are not too powerful). Only takes one post to cast. Can be countered if posted right afterwards.

First launch, and learning of first hex:

Arts: Magi-Alchemy and Necromancy

Ria High profile:
Quote:
Name: Totro

(optional)Name Meaning/Nicknames:

Gender (you got a 50/50 chance buddy): Male

Age (Just cause its high school you don't have to be a teen XP): [Unknown]

Race(Immortal races are okay but not encouraged, as long as you do not use them to powerplay.): Human

Arts: Alchemy, Necromancy. (Limit yourself to only 2)

Character Looks(Hair color, eye color, etc. Try to give as much detail as possible, please.): Totro is slightly under average height, and thinner than most males his age. He has short, jet black hair (most of which is covered by his top hat. He tends to dress somewhat formally. His clothing is pleasing to the eye, but unusual. Often he wears black white and read, and he never seems to take off his top hat. His eyes, also jet black, seem playful. He wears a dark brown leather bandoleer underneath his jacket and under his tie, it is slung around his right shoulder. Tight-fitting read shoes, white gloves, a tight red shirt under his white jacket, and old-looking face paint that resembled a skull was casual dress for Totro.

Alignment(Good, Neutral, Evil, (I know the meaning of Evil is very iffy. But just put in what suits your character the most):Neutral

Personality: The words "playful" and "curious" are a pretty good description of Totro most of the time, but lately he seems to need more and more alcohol to appear cheerful.

History (if your characters has one, This may increase in your stay here at Ria High): Someone had set his home on fire when he was very young. It is unknown whether it was on purpose or not, but he thinks it was one of his parents. There was oil everywhere, and he slipped in some and became covered in it. As the fire approached him, he closed his eyes tight, and the oil was suddenly not oil, but water. When he looked around, he could not find his parents, alive or dead. Sine then he's wondered. Though that would be the obvious thing to do, he doesn't seem to be looking for his parents or potential killer of them.

Any weapons/armor you have(You should not have very much as a beginner, and you should earn more through roleplaying. Same goes for the next two.): When he first came, he only had the top hat. But since he has come, he has created a very special cane out of snake that he found in a pond. He keeps several small pebbles and rocks in one pouch of his bandoleer.

Any items you have: Top hat, cane, and a few rocks that he picked up. Three bottles of a cream that a doctor at the hospital wing gave him. It supposedly stops bleeding and helps prevent infections from entering wounds. He bought a dark-brown leather bandoleer at the ForestLake mall, and wears it over his right shoulder.

Any battle skills/magical powers you have:
Totro has gained the following Magi-Alchemist skills:
-Staff transmogrifications: He can transform his staff into anything roughly the same size and shape, in one post.
-Small transmogrifications: Things like turning leaves into playing cards, or rocks into dice. (Those never take more than one post.) This also includes molding things together, like a stick and some small stones into a flower. The flower would be dead, obviously. Until he learns to use necromancy with the alchemy. That sort of thing takes 2-3 posts.
-Rock Bullets: Totro throws several small stones into the air, and hits them with his palm, and they fly towards his opponent at the speed of a bullet. Takes one post to do and one post to hit.
Elemental Transmogrification 01: Simple transmogrification of one thing into another ting of the same shape. For instance: he could turn a tree branch into a metal spike. This takes 2-3 posts.

Totro has gained the following Necromancy Skills:
-Penumbra Operative* Summon 01: The first step in the Penumbra Operative summoning skill chain. It allows him to summon an op in the form of an animal; the animal is blind and thus cannot see. They also usually disappear on their own after a simple task is completed (such as a snake spinning towards the opponent). How it works: In the river of death there are an unlimited number of Penumbra Operatives dissolved. The spell causes them to become whole, and then enter life, under the command of the person who made them whole. These usually take one to two turns.
-Penumbra Operative Summon 02: The second step in the Penumbra Operative skill chain. It summons a humanoid operative, that can see. This human forms its body parts into weapons, but once it does so, it cannot change the weapon. Op summoning 02 allows the summoner to make an archer, swordsman, or mace-wielder. How it works: Look at the first in the chain. Summoning them takes 2-3 posts.
-Penumbra Operative Discharge 01: The first step in the op discharging chain. The summoner sends the op back to whence it came. This takes three to four posts.
-Resurrection 01: The first step in the long chain of resurrection chain. This allows the necromancer to bring small plants back to life. It takes three to four posts.
-Penumbra Operative Discharge 02: A faster version of it prerequisite. This only takes two posts. Totro just has to think hard about discharging the op, and them slam his cane into any surface. How it works: He forces the operatives back into death, where they will soon mix into the water again. Usually just takes one post.
-Decay: Makes the opponent weak. Everything from a loss of energy to bones weakening. How it works: He forces part of his opponent into death, and binds that part to the floor of the river, so that it cannot be drawn to the surface without use of a hex. It usually takes two posts if executed perfectly, otherwise it takes three.
-Death Dive: A quick trip into death; it shoots the necromancers spirit into the river/waterfall/gates of death. He cannot stay there very long, though. How it works: He launches himself into the first river, the same way he forces someone else in the "Decay" skill, except he does not bind himself. Takes one post to do, and he can stay in death for four posts.
-River Bind Hex 01: The first River Bind hex. It can only be performed while in death. If the target is weak enough, it will bind them to the floor of the river for a short while. Takes one post to cast. It can be countered by a strong enemy if done by the next post.
-Spirit Brace: When timed correctly he stays alive after someone has done something that would have normally killed him. For example, if someone snapped his neck to the side, and he properly performed Spirit Brace, he would still be living. It takes a few moments after he is supposedly killed before he regains his life, though. How it works: For explanation purposes, let's use the neck-snapping example. He does a Death Dive a just as his neck is snapped. This causes him to enter death at the same time he dies. This technique is more of an exploitation than a spell. He is able to enter death and catch his spirit before it hits the water, and then carry it back to life. Obviously, it isn't so much countered, as his opponent has to be aware of this technique and not give Totro the chance.

Character Flaws(You must have at least two.): Easily persuaded, and hopelessly romantic.

Friends in the Realm: A few here and there.

Enemies in the Realm: None at this point.

Lover: None at this point.

Currently working on the following skills:

-Dry Floor Staple 01 : The first step in the Dry Floor Staple series. In this spell, Totro touches the skin of his opponent, with an enchanted hand, causing their spirit to be "stapled" to the river (of death)'s floor. Their body collapses and their are unable to move for a short period of time. This move will take two posts, 1 to cast the enchantment on Totro's hand, and one to touch the enemy's skin.(Necromancy Skill)
-Spirit Surface 01 : The first step in the "Spirit Surface" series. This is the first healing spell available. The way it works: Totro calls all parts of his spirit that have been cast into death to surface. These parts (once surfaced) slowly drift towards the entrance to death, until they return to life. This move can take as little as 2 turns, but can take more depending on how much he is healing. The first turn will begin to surface the parts of his spirit and later, he will have to call them to drift towards the entrance. (Necromancy Skill)
-Partial Submergence : An advanced version of "Decay" It causes his opponent to loose energy, and move much slower. It does not weaken them as much as "Decay" but it is almost an instant cast. He creates a hex symbol in the air and aims it at his opponent, and then does a thrusting movement with his palm into the places where he drew the symbol. This pushes part of his opponent into death, but slowly that part will surface, and float back towards life, so the effect is temporary. (Necromancy Skill)
-Penumbra Operative Summon 03: Allows the necromancer to summon a humanoid op assassin. (Necromancy skill)
-Life Transmogrification 01: Turns an inanimate object into a living thing. In this step of the chain, he can only turn them into plants. (Necromancy and Magi-alchemy combined skill)

Description of death/Totro's first time entering it:
Quote:
Totro felt himself fall into a body of water. He pulled his head out, gasping. He stood up. The water was extremely cold, and came up just past the middle of his shin. Everything seemed to be slightly translucent, and in a sepia tone. He looked around and saw a small ledge where the river didn't reach. Thirty feet infront of him was a waterfall, and a gothic-style steel gate. It was open and the water rushed over the edge. The current was strong enough to pull something along, but it wasn't hard for Totro to resist it. "I did it!" Totro yelled with excitement! "I launched my soul into the first gate of death!"

Story:
You can read about his past in the Ria High bio. Recently, though: He has come in contact with an old friend of his, Giroku. Also a blind operative that he summoned didn't leave, and decided not to rebel. It is in the form of a monkey, and Totro named it Astro. Astro manifests Totro's emotions, but they are working on giving Astro his own emotions. Astro looks like This: User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

*Op: Short for operative, which is short for penumbra operative. One of the simplest things to summon in this form of necromancy. It his a mostly-shapeless being with no will. It looks humanoid, but completely black, without any specific features, such as a face, teath, or even fingers. Necromancers summon them, and they do the bidding of the summoner. The longer they are summoned (and not sent back to twilight) the more will they get. The amount of will on an operative, is visable through the amount of physical features it has. The more free will an operative has, obviously, the harder it is to get to do what you want, including sending it back to twilight. A special whip can be used to get operatives back to their origional state. They are also known as Ops, Pen Ops, Pen Operatives, and by the untrained necromancers they are sometimes called Twilight Operatives.
