"Pretty brides make pretty corpses, Dear, now wouldn't you agree?" "But Love, the only bride That I see here tonight is me?
"Tonight you speak of corpses, As if we don't have years. Do you say this to upset me And to burden me with fears?"
"Fears, my sweet? You're frightened? On this our wedding night?" And he put his arms around her And she shuddered out of fright.
His hands grew tight around her neck. She struggled for her life. What kind of man was this who seemed About to kill his wife?
The pretty bride stopped struggling And with a gasping breath She threw him from the battlements Unto his painful death.
"Pretty brides make pretty corpses, Love, this perhaps is true. But pretty brides make pretty widows Is a fact that I know too."

Eyes are the windows to the soul But no one's home. The lights are off, The curtains drawn. And nothing's there but my own reflection.
I wish that you would cry To prove that you're alive.
So cold, Do you even have a soul?
But you just turn away And tears refuse to fall. There's no one there at all.
Your eyes, Cold emeralds that they are, Betray nothing of your feelings. And do you feel anything? Are you truly empty?
---
This is actually partly about me. I hate that I can't (or don't) show emotion.

Have you ever tasted sunlight, So bright and warm and clean? Pure, white, energy- Pouring through your soul.
Have you ever heard the silence So dense and loud and clear? Pure, tense, passionate- Rolling though your mind.
Have you ever seen the wind blow So low and soft and light? Pure, glow, resonance- Shining in your eyes.
If you've never tasted sunlight, And you've never seen the wind, If you've never heard the silence, Then you've never truly lived

I've actually written a happy poem! Exciting isn't it?

A heart- well 2 < 3. 1 + 1- that's you and me. *hug* and *kiss* But I still miss Kissing you upon the lips.
I need much more Than just a *kiss* And less than three. It's you I miss.
Well maybe 2 < 3. And 1 + 1 is you and me. A glitter heart But where to start. That can't whisper words to me.
I wonder how you're doing When you seem so far away. I know that other couples See each other every day. I think it's almost over And there is no other way. AIM's not all it used to be. There's nothing left to say.

Dedicated to my ex-boyfriend. This is why I broke up with him.

So I know you're disease But infect me, love, please. You are passion, obsession, and lust.
Though we've never spoken I'd give you a token My unending hope, love, and trust.
And when you are near me I wish you would hear me. My heart beats in time with your own.
And I know you're disease But I fall to my knees. I plead, "Please don't leave me alone".

The title sort of explains it.

The lonesome queen of shadows Sits in mourning on her throne. She waits there for the springtime When she may at last come home. Her eyes are dark from lack of sleep And spilling from them, tears of grief. Sorrowful in misery, The fate of sweet Persephone.
Her captor lord beside her, Sitting crowned upon his throne, Tortured by the springtime When his queen leaves him alone. His eyes are dark with bitterness, For Hades, god of death, he is. Of suffering and misery The lord of sweet Persephone.
Waiting, hoping, far away Demeter sits upon her throne She waits to bring the springtime And to bring her daughter home. Filled with guilt and lonesomeness, Although she knows the blame is his. Waiting in her misery, The mother of Persephone.
The lonesome queen of shadows Sits in mourning on her throne. She waits there for the springtime When she may at last come home. Her eyes are dark from lack of sleep And spilling from them, tears of grief. Sorrowful in misery, The fate of sweet Persephone.

For anyone who doesn't know: Persephone is from Greek mythology. Her mother (Demeter) was Zeus's sister, the goddess of the harvest. One day when Persephone was picking flowers, Hades kiddnapped her, and took her to the underworld to be his queen. Demeter got Zeus to make Hades give Persephone back, but Persephone had eaten from the food of the underworld, which meant she had to stay. Eventually, they worked out an agreement that Persephone would stay half the year in the underworld with Hades, and half the year at Olympus with her mother. When Persephone was in the underworld, Demeter didn't bring any harvest to the world (thus, winter), and when she came back there was spring and happiness.
So enough of my little history lesson.

Of love and death, And roses black. And hope forever lost.
I think I caught a glimpse Of forever in your eyes. But don't mistake immortality For divinity. Everything must end.
And listen, Love, your lullaby. My sword sings you to sleep. Hear you now, the swift, sharp song Of steel and fragile flesh.
Your blood is spilling on the floor And dripping from my blade. Do you remember lost perfection? Betrayal mocks my choice. Nothing more remains to me In my grove of silent shadows.
Sacrifice to endless tears A faded sea of withered flowers Stretched across my broken soul.
And maybe I will fall apart Before I learn to breathe again. Mortality can never be regained And innocence is only lost once.
---
The title is French for "Of Love and Death". It's about one vampire killing another.
I like the way the first three lines sum up the entire poem.

Welcome to disaster. Welcome to the end. Welcome to the fault line That none can ever mend.
Welcome to the darkness. Welcome to the morgue. Welcome to the only thing I know you can't ignore.
Welcome to my heartbreak. Welcome to my fall. Welcome to my blood that's Spattered all across your wall.
Welcome to my letter. Things I'll never say. Welcome to the shadow Hanging over yesterday.
Hope you read my letter. Hope it makes you cry. Hope I caused a little pain Before I say good-bye.

I think it's interesting. It's about a suicide (once again, i am not suicidal)

I've seen this movie one too many times. I know the ending; You and I Could never be together for all time.
A tragic tale of tragedy And one of us will likely end up dead. Maybe you will be the one to be Left bleeding on the floor. And I will sit there crying; While you're dying I will hold you in my arms.
And wouldn't it be fitting If I slit my wrists. And we could die together Just like Romeo and Juliet.
But how poetic would it be If your child could be born to me? And I could name him after you. And he would look just like you too. And I could raise him on my own. Although we'd seem to be alone I know you'd never leave us in the dark.
I've heard this tale a few too many times. I know the ending; You and I Could never be together for all time.
A tragic tale of tragedy And one of us will likely end up dead Toward the end.
A jealous rival Turned to rage. He never thought to ask my thoughts Before he came to end it all. He thought that he could win my heart But who could want this broken mess That seems to lie within my chest? His bullet shattered both our hearts
And he destroyed the thing he most desired. For I could never love again.
I've seen this movie one too many times. You know the ending; You and I Could never be together for all time.
Here lies my broken fairytale. An ending in a graveyard now. The wind is blowing through my hair. A dream-like sequence, full of hope, Forgetful of the past. And everything will fade to white at last.
---
About the typical tragedy. I like it mostly. Especially "Here lies my broken fairytale. An ending in a graveyard now."
